With 170 total players ranked in the class and continuing to expand, the Sophomore class is trending towards being one of the best that I have seen in my time here at Prep Hoops Kentucky. Let's break down some players outside the top ten who could be big time movers over the next 9-12 months.

Duke continues to grow and get stronger. In addition to being a solid ball handler, Tyson is a good shooter who excels at getting into the paint and creating issues for opposing teams. East Jessamine is going to need Tyson to make huge strides as a go to scorer for them to be relevant in the 12th region this season. He checks a lot of boxes as a potential D1 recruit in the near future.

One of the best pure shooters in the Sophomore class, Caleb is very impressive when he gets hot from range. As a freshman, Marshall shot 3 threes for every 2 pointer he attempted. That will need to change this season or teams will start game planning for him to be one dimensional. LCA has a young team but with Caleb and freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2400692' first='Chase' last='Bentley'], I'd expect them to surprise some people this season.

Prater had one of the more well known names in the 28 class coming into last season and did a good job of playing a role for Perry Central. Now a little bigger and a little stronger, Nick should be looked at to be a potential breakout candidate in the region and made a big impact for Perry in year two. A bouncy athlete, Prater has the length and versatility to be an impactful two way wing and make his way back up the class rankings.

Taylor is similar to [player_tooltip player_id='2400700' first='Caleb' last='Marshall'] in the sense that a year ago, Kaden was primarily a three point shooter. As part of a veteran roster last season, Kaden was in a reserve role. As a Sophomore, don't be surprised if Taylor becomes the go to scorer for a South Laurel squad that will be relatively young this year. As a 42% three point shooter last season, Taylor should already be on the radar of 12th region foes and could be an impactful player this season.

Pulaski have their sights set on getting back to Rupp Arena this season. To get there, the Maroons likely need Absher to step up in his Sophomore year. Tanner is a wing with good size and a pure shooting stroke from the perimeter. He could make some big strides this season as a playmaker and defender. As an 8th grader, Absher was really impressive and he should be in a position to make a leap this year for Pulaski as he should get a significant boost in playing time this year.
