The mark of a great shooter (in my opinion) is that they only miss long or short, never left or right. That's what I noticed about Mason on Saturday. His misses were all long or short. Never to either side and he has a quick release. He reminds me of another elite shooter, Fairdale Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1745595' first='Michael' last='Ray Stinnett']. I'm interested to see how much Hopkins grows over his career and watch his non-shooting skills improve to play on the ball more.

Nate was overshadowed by some shot heavy teammates in the 5 on 5 games but he did maximize the touches that he did get. Terry has the build that looks like he may be 6'4" or taller in a couple of years. He'll need to get stronger (don't they all) but Nate could be a rotational piece this season as a shooting specialist at Marshall. He's a name to track in the western part of Ky.

Benton had some of the most impressive shot making at camp last Saturday. There was a stretch where I saw him hit 3-4 shots in a couple of minutes and not a single one touched the rim. He's also got good size and could possibly stretch out to be a big wing in the near future. He's got to take some pride in his defense but that can all be fixed. For now, Wheeldon is already looking like an elite shooter.

Colson was a walk-in at camp and impressed me enough that I had to go and get his name. Penn also showed some quality ball skills and an IQ. He didn't force his shots but did make the majority of the ones he took. Colson may be needed to play some varsity time this year and I think he'll be ready for the opportunity. Even if he only gets on the court as a shooting specialist, Hunter should be able to contribute.
