Johnson was one of the top point guards at the camp, getting where he wanted to off the dribble to create offense for himself. It seemed like hardly anybody could stay in front of Johnson at the point of attack as he can attack using both hands when driving to the basket. Taking it coast to coast, Johnson could grab a defensive rebound and push the basketball to the other side of the court and either score or find a teammate in a good position to score. Maybe my favorite play of Johnson all day was a no look dime that had the defense confused where the ball was headed and resulted in an easy shot for his teammate. One of the best point guards in the GMC, Johnson is a solid small college recruit.

Few players shot the basketball as well as Combs did on Friday evening with numerous 3-pointers with his feet set. With his size and shooting ability, college coaches are sure to give Combs a chance to hold his own on the defensive end of the court with his height and length. If Combs can consistently impact the game in ways other than making shots on the perimeter, he'll get minutes sooner rather than later at the college level.

DeSales had a couple of standouts at the camp and Bischoff had one of the highlights of the day with a deep 3-pointer just as time expired for a game session. Making shots off the catch and running the floor helped Bischoff score efficient points for his team. DeSales should be one of the better teams in Louisville again this season because only one of their top six scorers graduated from last season.

A quick athlete from the point guard position, Duke's play style remains the same whether he's at a showcase event like this, playing with his high school team West Clermont or with his Midwest Basketball Club team. Duke wants to attack downhill and use his burst to get to the lane and score. Duke can also jump passing lanes and get out in transition to score. Expect a big season from the West Clermont back-court with two hungry senior guards ready to leave their impact on ECC basketball.

One of the tallest players at the event, I had a lot of college coaches asking me about players with size. I'm not sure any big helped his stock more than Rinehard with his ability to score in the paint off contested catches. Obviously his height is a big advantage in the paint but Rinehard has shown clear improvement with his assertiveness in the paint and offensive skill. Big time stock riser who gained interest on Friday.

The MVP of the event in the 11th and 12th grade Division, Evans had a big game in the all star championship to help his team win the title. Winners impact winning no matter the situation and Evans won a regional title with Wyoming and made the UA Rise 17 U championship in the past 4 months, no surprise his winning habits translated to a showcase event.
