A quick athlete from the point guard position, Duke’s play style remains the same whether he’s at a showcase event like this, playing with his high school team West Clermont or with his Midwest Basketball Club team. Duke wants to attack downhill and use his burst to get to the lane and score. Duke can also jump passing lanes and get out in transition to score. Expect a big season from the West Clermont back-court with two hungry senior guards ready to leave their impact on ECC basketball.

could form one of the best guard duos in the ECC this season as both of these players were handing out buckets on Sunday. A super bouncy guard, Duke almost threw down a couple poster dunks and wants to finish above the rim. Also has the shooting range to fire away well behind the 3-point arc, Duke hit a pair of 25 footers in the game I saw. Defensively, West Clermont liked to use a zone defense where Duke is free to gamble with help-side defense behind him. With the guard talent they return, West Clermont could be a sneaky team in Cincinnati this winter.
I just spotlighted Duke last weekend as the third leading scorer in the ECC was a standout on the Prep Hoops Circuit. A bouncy point guard who can attack downhill and finish on balance, Duke has the athleticism to bring a spark at the small college level. Duke’s Midwest Basketball Club squad has a handful of small college targets and would be a worthwhile watch for teams looking for guards who can play together at a high level.
A big-time vertical athlete from the guard position, Duke is a player I could tell had some explosiveness in his legs even before he threw down a breakaway dunk. I want to see talented athletes use their athleticism consistently throughout the game and Duke moved at a different pace than the other players on the court. Also able to play off two feet at the rim, Duke has a strong base to finish at the rim. After scoring over 17 PPG as a Junior it was nice to see Duke in person as he’ll be an addition to our 2026 rankings update coming this week.
Duke’s performance over the weekend stands by itself, but he also gets bonus points as this is the second year in a row that he’s stood out to me at a Prep Hoops Circuit event. He was a high percentage shot taker and shot maker on his way to averaging 23.3 points per game with the Midwest Flyers 2026 team. Duke can handle and set the offense as a lead guard and is dynamic with the ball. He’s a tremendous overall athlete that shake a defender and get high off the ground on a finish.
