One of the top scorers in Cincinnati, Griffin is now in the ECC after putting up monster scoring numbers in the CMAC for the last two seasons. Griffin has excellent touch on his shots and is a natural bucket getter. Griffin hit perimeter shots, had a sweet lefty scoop layup on the right side of the rim and scored off a couple cuts to the rim. Playing alongside former CMAC rival Jaionte Jones Jaionte Jones 5'9" | CG West Clermont | 2027 OH , the duo have provided a spark to a West Clermont team that already had some strong returners in their core. With this new look team, I’d expect West Clermont to vault up near the top of the ECC standings.

Griffin was cooking on the perimeter with some big time buckets for a Taft squad that went into CHCA and got a three point win on the road. One of the more talented off ball scorers in Ohio’s 2027 class, Griffin can get to the basket and score by attacking closeouts. In transition, Griffin threw down a couple dunks and used the spin move to beat the defense. Taft made just four 3-pointers all game but Griffin converted on three of his attempts, flashing his impressive perimeter shooting ability. If Griffin can improve at the foul line (65% on the season) he would’ve scored 30 or more points on Wednesday and could bump his season PPG up a point as well. With so much natural ability, Griffin is a name we’ll continue to monitor over the next few years.

Taft was missing some key players due to their football team still being alive in the state playoffs but Griffin was a familiar face to see. A very talented prospect, Griffin has an excellent blend of shooting, quick-twitch athleticism and speed. Griffin made some tough shots from the perimeter, including a crazy end of quarter buzzer-beater. Griffin also played above the rim on a couple layups and dunks, he almost had the highlight of the day with a poster attempt to end the game. For Griffin, being engaged defensively and making plays on that end will be the key. Taft wants to press and force turnovers so if Griffin can make an impact on that end, he’ll make a big difference as Taft tries to get back to the top of the CMAC.
