The OHSAA basketball season is just a few weeks away and we have released our preseason top 10 list for every Division so far leading up to Division I. In this article we'll break down teams ranked 7th-10th in our preseason rankings!

7. Massillon Jackson

One of the top offensive teams in Ohio, the Polar Bears can light up the scoreboard. Their senior trio of [player_tooltip player_id='1462536' first='Mitch' last='Finefrock'], [player_tooltip player_id='1462537' first='Kyle' last='Monterrubio'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2373022' first='Cam' last='Weekley'] can score at a high level and they do a great job moving the basketball. After winning a district title last season, Massillon Jackson is back for one last run with this core group of seniors.

8. Cincinnati St Xavier

The 2025 duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1462534' first='Jacob' last='Wassler'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1718518' first='Donovan' last='Waleskowski'] has played a lot of basketball together and have become key players in the Bombers program. If they are going to get to the top of the GCL-South this season, they'll need those two to be playing at their best. I've also been impressed by some multi-sport athletes that compete on the hardwood as well, St Xavier is stacked on the gridiron and a couple of those stars also contribute on the hardwood.

9. Lakota West

The GMC is so hard to predict and picking a winner in the preseason is always difficult. I went with Lakota West due to their star power in 2027 and the size they have. With [player_tooltip player_id='2140178' first='Bryce' last='Curry'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2125748' first='Joshua' last='Tyson'] a year older, they should both take steps. Leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id='2172061' first='Isaiah' last='Meade-Moss'] is back too as well as forward [player_tooltip player_id='2742972' first='Lj' last='Green']. This team has the talent and depth on paper to be one of the top teams in SW Ohio.

10. Cincinnati Princeton

Another GMC team that has a lot of talent, Princeton is a unique match-up for teams with their depth of guard defensive talent and a big fella in [player_tooltip player_id='1432054' first='Kieran' last='Granville-Britten'] that provides a unique size match-up that not many teams have an answer for. I also expect [player_tooltip player_id='2453406' first='A'Mire' last='Gill'] to take a huge step as a Sophomore, he is an elite athlete on the wing.
