Meade-Moss played like a senior guard. He did all the small impact plays for Lakota West. He had multiple second-effort plays that resulted in offensive rebounds or a change of possession in the game. He was a solid player who did not make mistakes and could not take off the floor, he played the entire game. His shots from three-point land were not falling but that did not affect his effort level. He made impacts on the defensive end and got to the rim. He had 16 points and was there in the biggest moments of the game. I loved how invested he was in this game. Got the crowd into and everyone for Lakota West fed off his energy.

If you want to go far in March, you usually are relying on seniors stepping up and making plays. That’s what Meade-Moss did early as he came out the gates firing with a huge slam dunk to get the Lakota West faithful on their feet in the first half. Meade-Moss also knocked down the only 3-pointer Lakota West made all game. Leading the team in scoring with some clutch free throws late, Meade-Moss made winning plays that seniors usually come in clutch for their teams to help Lakota West win the region.

I first found out about Meade-Moss from the Midwest Basketball Club Fall League down in Cincy and he continued to impress me when I watched him with Lakota West during the winter and especially in June. A physical guard who defends, brings toughness and knocks down shots, that’s a great combo to be recruited at the small college level. Lakota West has a nice mix of Sophomore talent and experienced seniors making them one of the favorites in the GMC this season.

Lakota West had an impressive weekend going 3-1 with their lone loss being in overtime to a talented Indy Cathedral team. I was impressed with a few players from their team but none more than Meade-Moss. A dual sport athlete for Lakota West, catch Meade-Moss impacting games on the hardwood and the diamond. A guard who can impact the game without the ball in his hands, Meade-Moss is a tough defender who uses his frame and activity to disrupt ball handlers from getting in the lane. He also showed the ability to score off the dribble attacking closeouts and getting out in transition and running. I liked how many different ways he impacted the game because I’ve also seen games where he makes four or five 3-pointers, another area he can swing the game. It’s June ball, but Lakota West projects as the potential favorite in the GMC after finishing second last season.

Lakota West is going to compete for the GMC title this season thanks to a nice variety of senior leadership and underclassmen talent. Meade-Moss is a prime example of a tough senior guard who will defend, be physical and most importantly knock down shots from the perimeter. He did all those things on Saturday and also scored in transition when the opportunity came. Small college programs should take a look at Meade-Moss if they want a tough two guard who can space the floor.

Another kid who made his debut after playing in the Midwest Basketball Club Fall League, Meade-Moss was a part of the Cincy location. One of the more efficient performances I’ve seen all season, Meade-Moss was 4/5 from 2-point range and 5/6 from 3-point range. Knocking down basically everything he threw up, this was his season high for scoring and the fourth time he’s been over 15 points in a game. His teammates did a good job finding him when he was open and Meade-Moss hit some tough shots as well. Also moving well without the basketball, a couple backside cuts allowed him easy layups at the rim.

I caught Meade-Moss at the Midwest Basketball Club Fall league in Cincinnati and he impressed me with his creation ability. Fast forward to the winter and he leads Lakota West in scoring at 9.1 PPG and had a season high 21 points in a win over Withrow to open the season. With his ability to create his own shot with his burst, handle and perimeter shooting ability, Meade-Moss has been one of the breakout players in southwest Ohio this winter.

The most impressive new name of the day, Meade-Moss is an impressive athlete who did a lot of on-ball creation for his team. A good shooter off the catch, Meade-Moss made some shots off the catch and got his feet set quickly off movement. His burst allowed him to get into the paint with the dribble drive and his most impressive play of the day was a whipped jump pass to a wide-open shooter. A multi-sport athlete on the hardwood and the diamond, expect Meade-Moss to be a name you start to hear more about in the next 12 months.
