Below are five of the biggest risers of note in the class of 2025:
Previous Rank: 89 (+70) Langham, an All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention at Belmont Hill, is one of New England’s most explosive athletes. A big, physical wing, Langham’s rise in the rankings is directly connected to improved offensive game. Long known for his athleticism and defensive abilities, this winter he showcased an expanded offensive arsenal, mainly the ability to create off the bounce. His improved handle has allowed him to pop as a three-level scorer; he’s particularly hard to guard in the mid-range where he can elevate over most defenders to get into his jumper.
Previous Rank: 94 (+69) Meyer, who was an All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention at New Hampton this winter, has great positional size and a knack for scoring on the wing. A long and lean athlete, Meyer is a smooth scorer that’s adept at getting to his scoring spots off the bounce. He can really shoot the ball from behind the arc and is among the best shot creators in this class. He should only continue to get better on the defensive end of the floor as he adds strength to his frame. It’ll be a big spring and summer for Meyer, who, while already holding mid-major recruitment, could play himself onto the high-major level.
Previous Rank: 69 (+39) Abreu, a 1st Team All-NEPSAC selection at Phillips Academy Andover, is a big combo-guard that does a great job of breaking down a defense off the bounce. He has impressive floor vision and is always looking to pitch the ball ahead for easy baskets in transition. He makes solid decisions in ball screen actions; showing an ability to manipulate the defense to create a shot for himself, the roller, or a shooter on the weak side. He has good positional size, utilizes his length to be disruptive in passing lanes, and isn’t afraid to mix it up on the defensive glass. He’s primed for a big spring and summer and, if he plays like he did this winter, could see his recruitment take off.
Previous Rank: 85 (+38) Ash, a 1st Team All-NEPSAC honoree at Canterbury, is a dynamic combo forward that clearly has his best basketball ahead of him. A physical finisher at the rim, Ash showed the ability to makes plays off the bounce in space this winter. He can finish with either hand, does a good job of changing speed and direction off the dribble, and is relentless on the offensive glass. Defensively, he’s comfortable guarding in ball screen actions and doesn’t back down physically in the post. His combination of skill, positional size, and motor should make him a highly coveted recruit this spring and summer.
Previous Rank: 80 (+28) Green, who was a key member of Bradford Christian Academy’s NEPSAC AA championship team, is one of the more versatile wing/forward prospects in the class. A high level defender, Green utilizes a plus wingspan to make an impact all over the floor. He’s instinctive in passing lanes, relentless on the defensive glass, and might be the best wing shot blocker in the class. An impressive athlete, he makes plays well above the rim on the offensive end of the floor. He’s impressive in the open floor, consistently runs the floor hard, and is a serious lob threat in transition. It wouldn’t be suprising to see him take another jump this spring and summer and attract the attention of scholarship level programs.
