IMG Dominate Paint En Route To Win Over La Lumiere

Down big man [player_tooltip player_id='2283402' first='Steve' last='Solano'], La Lumiere had a gaping hole in the interior of their defense. However, they masked it pretty well early and got good offensive production from [player_tooltip player_id='1432014' first='Jerry' last='Easter II'] who scored 8 of the team's first 10 points on 4-4 FG. Gerard O'Keefe and [player_tooltip player_id='1127315' first='Khani' last='Rooths'] each hit a three to put IMG up 7 at the end of the first quarter. Rooths was terrific on the defensive end holding [player_tooltip player_id='1297052' first='Jalen' last='Haralson'] to 6 points on 2-10 FG in the game. Haralson did, however, recognize that and become a facilitator, tallying 6 first-half assists as Easter II continued his hot shooting with 16 first-half points. But Head Coach Sean McAloon had his squad adjust to that lack of interior defense in the second half. [player_tooltip player_id='2197284' first='Donnie' last='Freeman'] took the game over with 10 points and 7 rebounds in the third quarter alone. IMG had both an 8-0 run to start the third quarter and a 10-0 run to start the fourth quarter. also out-rebounded La Lumiere 25-9 and scored 34 points in the paint in the second half alone. Freeman was the catalyst behind all of that, finishing the game with 35 points and 16 rebounds. La Lumiere had a couple of mini-runs to keep the game close, but they couldn't a third scorer besides Easter II and [player_tooltip player_id='1411404' first='Darius' last='Adams'], so IMG pulled up the nine-point win.

AZ Compass Prep Downs Desert Rival Canyon International Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='1125963' first='Amier' last='Ali'] and Vyctorius Miller started the game in an offensive rhythm. They each had 4 points before the opening media timeout as the game jumped out to a fast start. Canyon International Academy kept AZ Compass scoreless for the final five minutes of the first quarter, going on a 12-0 run over that stretch to gain early control of the game. [player_tooltip player_id='1464982' first='Miles' last='Sadler'] had an impact for them on both ends of the floor, drawing several "ohs" and "ahs" from the crowd. AZ Compass matched the CIA run closer to halftime, going on a 9-0 run capped by a couple of nice plays from [player_tooltip player_id='1131774' first='Jayce' last='Nathaniel']. AZ Compass did not make a three in the first half, but 9 offensive rebounds and 7 second-chance points helped them stay close to CIA who was boosted by 13 points from Ali. Despite a couple of plays by [player_tooltip player_id='1858998' first='Cam' last='Miles'] here and there, the third quarter belonged to CIA who didn't miss a shot until their final possession of the period. However, AZ Compass chipped away over the course of the fourth quarter getting several tough buckets from [player_tooltip player_id='1385291' first='Jeremiah' last='Fears']. CIA had a chance to win the game at the buzzer, but Ali's fadeaway corner three was no good and AZ Compass Prep escaped with their sixth EYBL Scholastic win of the season.

Montverde Academy Top Orangeville Academy To Finish Undefeated Regular Season

The Montverde Academy Eagles won big on Saturday Evening at the 2024 Pete Hollis Showcase to seal a 31-0 Season and the 2024 Nike EYBL Scholastic Championship. They survived a rough offensive game from [player_tooltip player_id='1454289' first='Cooper' last='Flagg'], who shot just 3-14 from the field and 0-6 from three, but the Nation's #1 Player made an impact on the defensive end with several high-level plays. The Eagles have so many options and it was Rob Wright III and [player_tooltip player_id='1055578' first='Asa' last='Newell'] who picked up the scoring load. Wright III had a field day getting downhill and Newell dominated the interior and stepped out to make a couple of jump shots. Orangeville Academy struggled to take care of the ball and Montverde capitalized with 28 points off 16 turnovers. The Eagles also used the size of Newell and [player_tooltip player_id='1089573' first='Derik' last='Queen'] inside, doubling Orangeville's points in the paint total with 42. Overall, Montverde shot 50% from the field en route to a 20-point win in their final game in Greenville this weekend.

Mobley's Big Scoring Night Propels Wasatch To Win over [program_tooltip program_id='2076455' first='Legacy' last='']

Both teams had the same absentees as their Friday-night encounters: [player_tooltip player_id='1532052' first='Isiah' last='Harwell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1114374' first='Malick' last='Diallo'] for Wasatch Academy, and [player_tooltip player_id='1220048' first='JJ' last='Rembert'] for [program_tooltip program_id='2076455' first='Legacy' last=''] Early College. [player_tooltip player_id='2026100' first='John' last='Mobley'] Jr. opened the game scorching hot, hitting a three on each of Wasatch's first four possessions of the game. They gradually got tougher and tougher, but Mobley Jr. was unphased. [player_tooltip player_id='1565197' first='Deston' last='Christian'] had a couple of good moments early for the home team, but a four-minute field goal drought allowed Wasatch to open up a double-digit lead. The Lions responded by putting pressure around the basket, drawing early foul trouble on [player_tooltip player_id='2202059' first='Bhan' last='Buom'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1601997' first='Augustine' last='Ekwe']. Just like that, [program_tooltip program_id='2076455' first='Legacy' last=''] had cut the lead down and [player_tooltip player_id='1089681' first='Cole' last='Hansen'] hit a three at the end of the half to make it just one. [player_tooltip player_id='1502824' first='Kyelin' last='King'] had a beautiful euro-step layup to give the Lions the lead at the start of the third quarter, but Wasatch responded with a 10-2 to take the lead right back. [program_tooltip program_id='2076455' first='Legacy' last=''] took the lead back with just over three minutes left in the fourth quarter, but Mobley Jr. added a three and a floater to go over thirty points and put Wasatch back on top. [program_tooltip program_id='2076455' first='Legacy' last=''] made a couple of shots to keep the game late close, but Wasatch sealed the game at the free throw line and the hosts finished 0-2 at the 2024 Pete Hollis Showcase.
