April stands as one of the busiest months of the year on the recruiting calendar, and across South Carolina, the landscape is already beginning to shift. From 2027 prospects making early statements to 2029 names bursting onto the scene, there's been no shortage of movement statewide. Meanwhile, the 2026 class is beginning to round out as more commitments come off the board.

The first name up in April's Recruiting Recap is [player_tooltip player_id='2450993' first='Aaden' last='Bruton-Smith']. Aaden received his second D1 offer from Appalachian State this week, joining Charleston Southern in the hunt for this gifted 2027 wing. Bruton-Smith had nine made threes in four games in the first 3SSB event of the season, with his best game being a 14-point outing on 4-7 3FG in a loss to Indiana Elite. When it comes to shooting, there aren't many better in the state than Aaden, so look for that offer list to continue to climb with live periods on the horizon.

Another Upward Star with some recruiting momentum this month is Harrington. He picked up D1 offers from East Texas A&M and Chicago State, along with his first offer from local D2 Benedict in late March. Desmond had eight stocks in four games out west last weekend, proving his frame could make an impact against the highest level of competition. He's also had several highlight-reel dunks so far this spring, catching the eye of people across the state.

Rowe is the second Gray Collegiate War Eagle on this list. Benedict was also the first school to offer Jayden, and then another D2 HBCU, Miles College, offered the talented guard a couple of weeks later. He has been a frequent standout so far with PCH, catching the eye of scouts in seemingly every event this spring. Rowe's well-rounded game features positional size, athleticism,

Chuck is off to a strong start with Illinois-based Big 3 Basketball on the UA Rise Circuit. He was a top performer at Prep Hoops Windy City War this past weekend and took a visit to D3 Carthage College while he was in the area. Schwarz currently holds one offer from D3 Edgewood University, but as he continues to show progress with his fluid movement and offensive skillset, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him end up with a handful more by the end of the summer.

South Carolina's #1 prospect received his second college offer from D2 UNC Pembroke on April 11th, joining South Carolina State as an early suitor for this talented freshman. Triplin is playing up with MHE 16U this summer, and his gifted physical traits are an asset around some of their elite guards. Jeremiah's most effective around the rim right now, but he will only grow more comfortable and effective doing other things as he gets older and stronger.

Rounding out this month's recruiting notes is 2029 [player_tooltip player_id='2853393' first='Babar' last='Johnson']. Johnson has had a couple of big announcements over the past several weeks, including a transfer to Westwood HS, the switch to Upward Stars, and now his first offer from in-state D2 Francis Marion. Babar is one of the most intriguing prospects in South Carolina, regardless of class, with his positional size and offensive tools being the motor behind early college interest.
