Jayden Rowe Jayden Rowe 6'4" | SG/PG Gray Collegiate Academy | 2027 State SC had a monster night in a matchup that felt more like a playoff atmosphere than any fall league game I’ve seen this year. Capital City (Gray Collegiate Academy) went up against Roebuck 1 (Dorman) on Wednesday evening, and Rowe’s 30 points on 6-12 3FG was extremely impressive. He frequently punished defenders for going under screens or not having a hand up on the catch, but also had some other scoring flashes in transition and inside the paint when run off the line. A lot of the current recruiting buzz around Jayden suggests he’ll start at a lower level and work up, but with performances like last night, I find it hard to believe Rowe is not a Division 1 player next season.

This Top-10 prospect in the state has had a busy month of visitors. Both D1 and D2 schools seem to be heavy after him, so it was good to stop in and see where he’s at headed into his senior season. Jayden is one of the better movement shooters in South Carolina’s 2027 class, which was on display in Gray’s open practice, plus he attacks and finishes at the rim with bounce.

Rowe was sporting a new jersey this week, running with Team United for the first time in the PIT. It will clearly take a couple of games for him to learn his new system and teammates, but I saw some good things from Jayden in a matchup with Georgia Stars on day two. He tallied 10 points on 5-7 FG, plus 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. Typically, Rowe’s calling card is shooting, but he did a lot of other positive things in this game. He was bought in defensively, drove closeouts extremely well, and was a weapon in transition. Jayden holds offers from Norfolk State, Benedict, Catawba, and Miles.

Another South Carolina guard who caught my eye was Rowe. Jayden and the War Eagles had one of the more impressive wins on Saturday, knocking off Woodward Academy (GA) 73-47. He was huge in that game, putting up a game-high 19 points on 3 3-5 3FG. Rowe’s perimeter shooting was important from the jump, knocking down a pair of threes off the catch and another one off the dribble. The shooting opened up room for him to get to the rim and make plays for others, but he was also impactful defensively with 4 steals and 1 block.

Rowe is the second Gray Collegiate War Eagle on this list. Benedict was also the first school to offer Jayden, and then another D2 HBCU, Miles College, offered the talented guard a couple of weeks later. When it comes to guards, Rowe is about as close to a “plug-and-play” guy as you will get in the state of South Carolina. His ability to knock down jumpers and make the right play is something that cannot be overlooked, and it’s a huge reason why his teams always seem to win games. Jayden received his first offer from Benedict College in late March and should be a name that college coaches circle during live periods this summer.

One of the players who had the most all-around production tonight was Jayden. His fingerprints were all over the game, going for 16 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals. Rowe was an analytically efficient offensive player in this game, scoring all of his points at the rim, the free-throw line, or from behind the arc. He had 3 3PM – all on spot-up looks with a repeatable, sound release. Rowe also looked very bouncy when at the rim, including a tough, driving and-one and a pair of transition finishes. If this is Jayden that GCA will get nightly, it’s hard to see a scenario where they aren’t the last team standing in Class 4A.
