Another South Carolina guard who caught my eye was Rowe. Jayden and the War Eagles had one of the more impressive wins on Saturday, knocking off Woodward Academy (GA) 73-47. He was huge in that game, putting up a game-high 19 points on 3 3-5 3FG. Rowe’s perimeter shooting was important from the jump, knocking down a pair of threes off the catch and another one off the dribble. The shooting opened up room for him to get to the rim and make plays for others, but he was also impactful defensively with 4 steals and 1 block.

Rowe is the second Gray Collegiate War Eagle on this list. Benedict was also the first school to offer Jayden, and then another D2 HBCU, Miles College, offered the talented guard a couple of weeks later. When it comes to guards, Rowe is about as close to a “plug-and-play” guy as you will get in the state of South Carolina. His ability to knock down jumpers and make the right play is something that cannot be overlooked, and it’s a huge reason why his teams always seem to win games. Jayden received his first offer from Benedict College in late March and should be a name that college coaches circle during live periods this summer.

One of the players who had the most all-around production tonight was Jayden. His fingerprints were all over the game, going for 16 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals. Rowe was an analytically efficient offensive player in this game, scoring all of his points at the rim, the free-throw line, or from behind the arc. He had 3 3PM – all on spot-up looks with a repeatable, sound release. Rowe also looked very bouncy when at the rim, including a tough, driving and-one and a pair of transition finishes. If this is Jayden that GCA will get nightly, it’s hard to see a scenario where they aren’t the last team standing in Class 4A.
