Treyvon is one of those players where the physical tools immediately grab your attention, but I don’t want his evaluation to stop there.

The size is obvious. What interested me more was seeing what he could actually do with it.

Treyvon showed the ability to handle the ball, create and make plays rather than simply relying on being bigger than the player guarding him. That’s what gives him a higher ceiling in my eyes.

He’s also already getting legitimate national recognition. Prep Hoops currently has Treyvon at No. 52 in its national 2030 rankings, which gives some context to how the broader scouting world views him right now.

But rankings aren’t where I stop.

Boog’s Take: I’m looking at the next step. If the decision-making and consistency continue to catch up with the physical tools, Treyvon has a chance to go from an intriguing national prospect to one of the names people are talking about near the top of this class.

Smith is another guy drawing lots of early buzz in South Carolina’s 2030 Class. He was solid as an 8th Grader for Mid-Carolina last season, but he’s really broken out with USC Unleashed this summer and has since moved to Gray Collegiate. Treyvon has the early size to dominate around the paint, but he’s working on the skill and shooting to become a more well-rounded offensive prospect as he gets older.

He is a South Carolina 2030 with national attention already, so there were many who wanted to get eyes on him last week in North Augusta. Smith got going in the second half of Team USC Unleashed ‘s matchup with the eventual champs Team Final, finishing with 9 points and 6 rebounds. Treyvon showed some really good things around the rim, working the offensive glass for second-chance points, scoring from the post, and finishing transition opportunities. Overall, it was an excellent showcase from Smith, who certainly has a case for the top spot in South Carolina’s 2030 Rankings when they are released next spring.
