The USC commit is a strong bodied lead guard that brings physicality to the point guard position. He has a good feel for the game finding his teammates. As a scorer he is at his best when getting downhill on straight line takes where he uses his handles to get past them and strength to finish in among the trees down low or draw contact for trips to the foul line. Active defender that should be impactful on that end at the next level. Finished with 9 points and a handful of assists.

You couldn’t hear about Ohio class of 2025 prospects without hearing about Easter when these prospects were rising freshman. After lighting up the scoreboard at Toledo Emmanuel Christian for two seasons, Easter spent last year at La Lumiere and will spend this season at Link Academy. Easter remained a top prospect throughout his journey as a high school prospect and has numerous high major programs after him. Easter is another top 50 consensus prospect according to the national RSCI rankings. If these four players would’ve remained in Ohio, they would account for almost 10% of the top 50 prospects in the country. A remarkable class for Ohio when you consider some of the names that have left the state and there’s still so much talent that’s ready to compete this winter at the OHSAA level.

Jerry Easter made numerous key plays throughout the week. Offensively, he was relentless in getting to the rim, using his quick first step and strength to consistently beat defenders. His ability to finish through contact and make tough shots in traffic was on full display. Additionally, he showcased a smooth release on his jumper, hitting crucial mid-range and long-range shots that kept the defense off balance.
Easter’s defensive prowess was equally impressive. He leveraged his defensive pressure to create easy scoring opportunities, turning steals and deflections into fast-break points. His ability to anticipate passes and disrupt the opponent’s offense was a game-changer, providing his team with momentum and critical stops.
Capping off a dominant week for Team Final , Easter’s performances have been consistently stellar, making a strong case for him as the best point guard in the country. His leadership, skill set, and ability to perform under pressure are setting him apart as a top-tier prospect.

Easter is a straight up bucket getter, who used a combination of strength and pace to be a problem off the bounce in a Sunday morning win over Team Griffin . A great example of how shifting gears when driving can be more impactful than pure speed. Would get defenders leaning and then smoothly stop or pivot back, leaving the defense in the dust for easy looks. Can hunt mismatches on post ups as well. Throw back looking guard, that could get buckets in pick up settings that at time appears to be a lost archetype with the modern emphasis on individual drills for development.

Easter is a prospect with Team Final to keep an eye on as he looks ready to turn a corner this grassroots cycle on the EYBL stage. He finished atop the 15U standings as a top scorer and assist-man after Session I with 19.7 PPG, 4.7 RPG and 3.3 APG while shooting 67.6 percent from the floor. He’s an intriguing athletic prospect with a knack for making plays for himself and others off the bounce. He’s one to keep an eye on.

Leaving All Ohio Red to play for Team Final, the scheduling gods set up a prime match-up to open up EYBL play as Easter and company went up against his old program. Settling in well early wearing new colors, Easter looked comfortable rocking the teal blue and yellow Team Final jersey. Setting up the offense and not letting the ball stick to his hands were key for Easter as Team Final relies on ball movement to create shots over isolation scoring. To open up the game, Easter threw an alley-oop on a set play for an assist and that was a sign of things to come. According to the EYBL website, Easter had eight assists in that game, which tracks what my eyes saw in regards to his passing ability. As a driver, Easter was patient and scored off a couple give and go’s, attacking closeouts and scramble plays. When Easter can get the defender on his back attacking the rim, he’s tough to contest, it usually ends in either a bucket or a foul. I do want to see Easter be more confident as a shooter from the outside, he passed up some open looks and with more in-depth scouting I expect teams to force Easter to prove to them that he will make them pay for leaving him open from 3-point range. Easter knocked down just one 3-pointer all weekend according to EYBL’s stats page.

Contrary to his backcourt-mate, Jerry is a strong scorer without the asset of the three-ball. He scored 28 Points without hitting a single shot from behind the arc against IMG on Saturday Night. Easter II gets downhill with ease, beating his defender with a combination of speed and strength. However, he loves to pull up, and he’s pretty good at it. Even in transition, Jerry takes advantage of putting defenders on their backfoot and gets some extra room by pulling up from around the free throw line. He also has a good frame and helps out on the defensive glass for La Lumiere.

Easter is a household name in the Toledo Area and at this point is a name to know nationally. He is currently ranked 24th in the country according to ESPN. He holds over 30 D1 offers, is a 5-star prospect, and has won almost every Player of the Year in the Toledo area you can imagine. This kid is the real deal. He has college-level size already as a junior in high school. He is listed at 6’5 and has a very strong build. He is getting more and more athletic, so he has gained the ability to finish over you as well. Easter is a very good athlete. Very strong point guard who uses contact to his advantage. He gets to the rim whenever he wants but never forces, he finds the open teammate when the defense collapses. His jumper just keeps getting better. It’s coming off his hands smoother every time he plays. He gets a ton of college attention already and at one of the top prep schools in the country, it will only take his game to the next level.

Indiana natives may not be familiar with Easter as he comes to La Lumiere from the state of Ohio. The bigger guard averaged over 20 points per game while playing up with All Ohio 17u on the EYBL circuit and had a great performance at the Peach Jam culminating in a 44-point blowup.
