Saint Ignatius won this game with rebounding and toughness and Lamirand is the definition of that as he was physical and got the Wildcats lots of second chance opportunities and even finished a couple putbacks. I loved the motor that Lamirand played with and his energy was infectious with the rest of the team. Never going to be a leading scorer for his team but Lamirand brings toughness and will fit in well at the small college level.
Lutheran West got a gritty victory over STVM at the buzzer and it was won with strong efforts by Meyer and Derek Fairley Derek Fairley 6’1″ | CG Lutheran West | 2024 State OH . I could’ve picked either prospect but I chose Meyer for his interior scoring and toughness. Meyer had a strong dunk, finished an alley-oop layup and had some patient finishes in the post. Meyer’s dunk with two minutes to play gave the Longhorns to lead and they held on to remain unbeaten.
Prince and Rayshawn Hamilton Rayshawn Hamilton 6’4″ | SF STVM | 2026 State OH are Sophomores starting for the Irish and while they’ve taken their losses, they are not an easy out whatsoever. I was impressed with the toughness Prince played with and how he moved without the basketball. Also capable of making a live dribble pass when attacking the basket, Prince had a handful of assists as well. When Lutheran West went to a trapping style defense Prince got a couple easy layups thanks to passes from his teammates.
Centerville got a nice win over Saint Edward, making the furthest trip of the day to grab an impressive win. It was won on an Njie layup with 10 seconds left off a dime from Eli Greenberg Eli Greenberg 6’3″ | CG Centerville | 2025 State OH to secure the win for the Elks. Njie plays with a high motor and really attacks loose balls on the glass. I also was impressed with Njie’s ability to finish with his left hand. One of the top available seniors in Ohio, Njie is worth a look for college programs looking for a high energy forward.
A new name, Vlosich made his varsity debut and hit the ground running with some impressive shot making on the perimeter. I also was impressed with how vocal Vlosich was on both ends of the court, not afraid of the moment at all. For a prospect to be thrown into the fire in a game like Ed’s Vs Centerville, Vlosich responded incredibly well and seems like a name to watch for the future.
