Njie played with excellent heart and hustle on both ends, guarding a trio of bigs all a couple inches taller than him. With his rebounding, rim protection and ability to attack off the dribble, Njie found multiple ways to impact the game and usually doesn’t need the ball in his hands to make a positive impact on his team.

One of a handful of available 2024 prospects who played this weekend, Njie impressed for Phenom United as he just plays the game the right way. Few players match Njie’s effort levels on both ends of the court. A kid who rebounds, talks on defense and gets after loose balls, Njie does a lot of things that don’t show up on the stat sheet. When an opponent tried putting Njie on a poster, he contested the shot and came away with the most impressive block I saw all weekend. A prospect who has attracted interest from college and post grad programs, it’ll be interesting to see what Njie decides to do in the Fall.

In a game that was filled with runs on both sides and lots of momentum swings, it was the steady presence of Njie that I felt made the difference as Centerville is once again a district champion. Njie scored with both hands at the rim, was efficient on second chance opportunities and finished through contact. One of the top available seniors in Ohio, Njie showed his versatility as a skilled forward who can pass it, rebound it and play with a high motor. Centerville awaits Hamilton in a regional semifinal before a potential rematch with Moeller in the regional finals, the Elks were the only team to beat the Crusaders this season.

Arguably the top unsigned senior in Ohio regardless of position, Njie has a lot of upside with his fluidity as an athlete and high motor. A good rebounder for his size and able to rise up for rebounds, blocks and dunks, Njie looks the part on the court. Averaging 14 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal a game, Njie makes an impact at both ends of the court. Not going to provide the perimeter shooting ability from the power forward position, Njie needs to go to a program that’s creative offensive to work with non-shooting bigs or with a center who can space the floor. With the right fit, Njie could be a nice energy option due to his defensive versatility and motor. Getting interest from Division I and II schools at the moment, post grad is also an option for Njie.

Centerville got a nice win over Saint Edward, making the furthest trip of the day to grab an impressive win. It was won on an Njie layup with 10 seconds left off a dime from Eli Greenberg Eli Greenberg Eli Greenberg 6'3" | CG Centerville | 2025 State OH to secure the win for the Elks. Njie plays with a high motor and really attacks loose balls on the glass. I also was impressed with Njie’s ability to finish with his left hand. One of the top available seniors in Ohio, Njie is worth a look for college programs looking for a high energy forward.

The third Njie brother to come through the Centerville program, his oldest brother Mo started his career at Eastern Michigan before transferring up to SMU. His middle brother Kebba started at Penn State and followed his coach to Notre Dame this off-season. Baboucarr is a little shorter than his older brothers but plays as a wing forward with his explosive athleticism and defensive versatility. Still early in his recruiting process, don’t be surprised if Division I schools come calling with a strong senior season at Centerville.

Njie is a guy who has brought a ton of energy to the All Ohio roster and provides a spark when he’s in the game. Not a high volume offensive player, Njie has shot 50% from the field on 12 attempts through four games. With 14 rebounds, a 5/2 A/TO ratio, 4 blocks and 5 steals in 48 minutes, Njie has made the most of his time. I expect Njie to wind up as either a Division II priority or get some low major interest over these July live period weekends. Great example of a prospect who doesn’t need to score to impact the game and does a little bit of everything.

Another bench player making an impact on the EYBL circuit, Njie is the third brother from Centerville after his oldest brother Mo and middle brother Kebba both went to Division I programs. An active forward, Baboucarr is a little shorter than his two older brothers but is a good athlete with impressive vertical pop and moves his feet well. Shooting over 50% from the floor and 11/13 from the free throw line, Njie has been efficient in a simple offensive role where he’s asked to grab offensive rebounds, cut to the basket and attack an extended closeout. I think Njie should be getting a lot of scholarship love due to his athleticism, defensive potential and production on top teams at both the high school and grassroots level.

The guy who played by far the fewest minutes on All Ohio Red 17 U, Njie just got 19 minutes of action over the four games. Njie plays hard, defends, crashes the glass when he’s out there and despite not making a field goal, finished 8/8 from the free throw line in his limited sample. I expect scholarship programs to watch Njie at non-EYBL events and with Centerville because his athleticism and production when he’s on the floor suggest he should be recruited by scholarship level programs.
