Announcing a plan to do a postgrad year and head to college as a 2028 grad, Sam will stay in our 2027 rankings as he prepares for his senior season in the OHSAA. Sam has been on a steady upward trajectory and he had a big scoring game Vs Lyon County in a fun battle between small school programs. Sam’s strength is a major advantage when he drives to the rim. Obviously perimeter shooting is a main skill for Sam and he made a handful of 3-pointers in Bellbrook’s victory over the Kentucky small town powerhouse.
Making the move from Centerville back to his home school of Bellbrook for his senior season, Sam should remain in the spotlight around the Dayton area. The wing guard is an impressive set shooter who seemed to find his rhythm with Nova Village during the spring live period. With Sam’s strength, perimeter shooting and production at both the high school and grassroots level, he earned another bump up the rankings as he’s been approaching the top 50 for the past few months. Intrigued to see how he performs in June in a new situation!
Centerville has five players averaging between 7.9 and 13 PPG with Sam leading the way at 13 PPG. Sam is an excellent shot maker off the catch and is shooting 50% from the floor and 43% from 3-point range on the season. In the Elks last five games, all conference victories, Sam has scored in double-figures in each contest, his longest such streak of the season. Add in the fact that Sam has a strong frame and can defend well at the point of attack and he has earned a jump up our rankings.
One of the bigger stock risers in the 2027 class this winter, Sam continues to produce at a high level for one of the top teams in southwest Ohio. An impressive perimeter shot-maker, Sam is money with his feet set. With a strong frame, Sam’s physicality is crucial when he defends some of the top scoring options on the other team. Maybe his best play of the day was a hook pass to the corner for an open 3-point attempt. Due for a bump up in our next rankings update, Sam’s production is standing out for a young, but talented, Centerville squad.
Centerville has a ton of 2027 talent and Sam provides athleticism and scoring from the wing position. Sam had some big games in the month of June thanks to his quick first step as a slasher and perimeter shot-making ability. Sam shot over 50% from 3-point range January 16th on last season, continuing to show his confidence to space the floor this summer as well. After scoring 6.4 PPG last season, Sam could be one of the most productive wing guards in the GWOC this season.
