In a fun battle to end the night, Greenberg was going at the Reynoldsburg defense, serving out buckets in a variety of ways. Greenberg was making shots off the catch and moving without the basketball. Centerville did a nice job of using Greenberg as a screener to then let him make himself available for open shots as well. Throw in the highlight of the night when Greenberg dunked all over a Reynoldsburg defender and he had a monster performance on the big stage. While it wasn’t enough to take down the unbeaten Raiders, Greenberg and Centerville showed out and are still a team to watch come playoff time in southwest Ohio.

Centerville had a Mr Basketball winner in 2022 and Greenberg is now set to lead the team with the Elks graduating a pair of Division I commits from the 2024 class. If Centerville continues to run the GWOC, I could see Greenberg being a first team all state performer and potentially a finalist for Mr Basketball.

Greenberg came out the gates scorching from 3-point range, scoring I believe 18 of his team’s first 29 points on Wednesday. Making a ton of 3’s off the catch, Greenberg’s most impressive bucket was a no dip 3-pointer from the corner. Also finishing at the rim with his left hand, I liked the amount of energy Greenberg played with.

It’s a new era in Centerville after the Elks graduated another star studded senior class with guys like Jonathan Powell and Baboucarr Njie. With those seniors out the door, there’s no mystery who the new man in charge is offensively. Greenberg did an excellent job on Saturday letting the game come to him and looked a tier above the competition when the Elks dominated Walnut Hills. Getting to his spots and hitting pull-up 3-pointers with plenty of space, Greenberg was efficient in the lone game I caught. After not seeing Greenberg all spring with Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB , it was nice to catch him early in the month of June with a more prominent offensive role.

Balanced scoring was the recipe for success as Centerville dominated Whitmer to once again advance to the state championship game. Greenberg led the way with 19 points and was as aggressive as I’ve ever seen him as a scorer on Saturday night. Getting downhill and attacking the Whitmer defense when they were on their heels, Greenberg did a nice job getting to the paint and finishing off two feet. Also showing confidence as a 3-point shooter, Greenberg shot the ball at a high clip from 3-point range as well. The title game Vs Saint Ignatius is a rematch of a regular season contest where Greenberg scored a season-high 28 points. For the Elks to win this one, they’ll need another strong effort out of Greenberg.

A prospect who picked up three offers in the Fall from EKU, Robert Morris and Purdue Fort Wayne, we didn’t catch Greenberg from June until January and missed his initial rise. When we saw Greenberg in-person for the first time in seven months, we saw growth in his game with his body, confidence and passing ability. With some big games this season, none bigger than 28 points and six assists Vs Saint Ignatius, Greenberg has proven himself as a Division I caliber prospect in our eyes as well. This rankings jump puts him in line with his offer status from college programs.

Greenberg added three Division I offers in the fall from Eastern Kentucky, Purdue Fort Wayne and Robert Morris and is currently third on Centerville in scoring. Shooting 41% from 3-point range and dishing out almost three assists a night, that’s what Greenberg brings as a bigger lead guard with big time shooting ability. I’ll be scouting Greenberg again on Sunday when the Elks travel to Cleveland to play in the Cleveland Play by Play Classic against Saint Edward.

are going to be key contributors that are relied on to take the next step if the Elks want to compete for a state title. Both had strong summers as Eli has a lot of upside as a ball handler with good size and can both knock down shots from long range and create for his teammates. A late blooming guard, Greenberg has waited his turn and now appears ready to perform under the bright lights. Recently offered by Eastern Kentucky and Robert Morris, expect more schools to get involved in his recruitment by the time spring rolls around.
