Evangel Christian came out firing and it was a big first half from Tilley with a handful of pull-up jumpers that got his team going. Fellow star guard Christian Doerr Christian Doerr 6’3″ | SG Evangel Christian | 2024 State KY returned from injury off the bench and while he made an impact, Tilley was the guy who made them go on Monday night. Making shots off the catch and bounce, Tilley was getting to his spots after making dribble moves to create space and has a quick release. One of the top unsigned seniors in Kentucky, Tilley had a monster dunk in transition to cap off a dominant performance as he led Evangel Christian with 22 points. A clear scholarship target, Tilley should be a priority for regional Division II and NAIA programs, currently with one offer from Georgetown College, I’d expect more to come calling if Tilley keeps up this level of play.
Evangel Christian had a big advantage in the paint during this game as their duo of Mukadi and Johnny Djema Johnny Djema 6’8″ | PF Evangel Christian | 2024 State KY feasted in the paint. I thought Mukadi showed strong hands with a bunch of catches in the post on contested passes. With his size he got a couple switches onto guards and made patient moves for easy buckets. Mukadi also had a tip in layup where he kept it high and no Adair County defender could contest that shot. A prospect who knows who he is, Mukadi isn’t going to be spacing the floor or putting it on the ground, Mukadi does his damage in the paint as a rim runner and positioning for offensive rebounds. Another prospect on Evangel Christian who projects to be a scholarship prospect, I’d expect Division II and NAIA schools to start getting serious in recruiting Mukadi in the spring and summer.
Adair County fought for the entire game and their floor general Loy was impressive all game. A limited athlete, Loy made a bunch of contested shots and used patience and fakes to get space to operate. When Loy got a step past his primary defender, he would draw help-side defense and find the open man. I liked the toughness and shot-making ability Loy flashed on Monday night. The Evangel Christian pressure was swarming all game and Loy did a nice job handling traps and helping set his teammates up. I think Adair County has a chance to make a deep playoff run with a nice 2025 core of Loy and Isaiah Cochran Isaiah Cochran 6’6″ | SF Adair County | 2025 State #383 Nation KY .

One of the dunks of the year in the state of Kentucky came on Tuesday when Surratt drove down the lane and threw it down all over a Henry Clay defender attempting to take a charge. We’re going to ignore the ref’s charge call because that dunk was insane. Surratt is an impressive athlete when he gets a runway, this isn’t the first time he’s put a defender on a poster this season. A good shooter from the perimeter as well, Surratt hit a handful of jumpers and shoots a clean ball off the catch. Also making a couple scrappy plays in the paint fighting for rebounds and loose balls, one area of growth for Surratt will be staying strong with the ball in his hands. With offers from Youngstown State and Lindenwood already, Surratt is a Division I level prospect. With his high GPA I would imagine Ivy and Patriot league programs to take a close look at Surratt on the 3SSB circuit this spring and summer.

Henry Clay got down early by double figures and were fighting an uphill battle on the road but thanks to Stephan’s play they stayed within striking distance for a majority of the game. A wing with solid size and a quick release, Stephan was letting it fly with confidence and knocked down a pair of 3-pointers. With good length defensively he jumped a couple passing lanes and even had a putback layup off an offensive rebound. I’d like to see Stephan again on the grassroots circuit to see how well he handles the ball when surrounded by more even talent on both sides. As for now, I liked how hard he played and his shooting + defense on the wing. A player to watch in Kentucky’s 2026 class.
