Hampton Evans Hampton Evans 6’5″ | PF Farmville Central | 2024 State NC was another impressive name in the Farmville Central frontcourt as he was virtually unstoppable attacking the painted area. He finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and three blocks and remains one of the more underappreciated forwards in the 2024 class. He’s a name for DII programs in the region to get to know.
Another underrecruited name in the Farmville Central rotation, MJ Williams MJ Williams 5’10” | SG Farmville Central | 2025 State NC sets the tone and the pace at the lead guard spot. He’s another prospect for DII programs in the region to get eyes on given his prowess for shooting and distributing the basketball. He finished with 12 points, eight assists and three steals though his 3-point shot wasn’t falling. Once he finds his rhythm on the perimeter, the Jaguars will be even tougher to beat down the road.
Otyaluk was impressive in hitting some big shots for Word of God in their victory over Winston-Salem Christian School. He showed off his range on numerous occasions and battled on the interior, staying out of foul trouble and securing rebounds when his team needed them. He continues his development on the hardwood and should continue to add strength to his frame in the weight room.
Carlos Vazquez Carlos Vazquez 6’5″ | SF Wayne Country Day | 2024 State NC opened things up for Wayne Country Day School with his ability to attack the basket and create shots off the bounce. He finished with 18 points as he showed he could co-exist with his two other forwards to find success. He does well with reading the defense and finding his spots to contribute with relative ease. He’s another prospect in the 2024 class that DII and DIII programs in the region would be wise to get eyes on given the energy he plays with on the floor.
Jaelen Solomon Jaelen Solomon 6’5″ | PF Wayne Country Day | 2025 State NC held his own in the painted area on both ends and operated well off Vazquez and Coles to fill the void when needed. When all three are clicking together, the Chargers are a tough squad to beat on both ends of the floor. He finished with eight points and 10 rebounds to shore things up for the frontcourt.
Highlights
Ferguson continues to lead the Wilson Prep Academy attack with efficiency despite the loss. He finished with 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor and also had five rebounds and three assists to lead the way for the Tigers. He’s remained a consistent presence in their backcourt as they look to repeat as state champions. DII and DIII programs in the region should get eyes on him.
Minter had arguably his best game on the young season shooting the ball as he poured in 28 points to lead the Tigers offense. He was efficient in going 3-of-6 on the perimeter and shot 9-of-21 from the overall field while also racking up four rebounds and three assists. He remains a target for DIII and JUCO programs in the region to get eyes on.
