Isaiah Otyaluk
About Isaiah
Expert Analysis
Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Otyaluk was impressive in hitting some big shots for Word of God in their victory over Winston-Salem Christian School. He showed off his range on numerous occasions and battled on the interior, staying out of foul trouble and securing rebounds when his team needed them. He continues his development on the hardwood and should continue to add strength to his frame in the weight room.

Continues to prove why he is a player that D1 programs are very excited about and that his stock should continue to be on the rise. He’s an outstanding shooter from the perimeter, can make plays above the rim and still has plenty of upside.

is another budding versatile name in the 2024 class that’s starting to get noticed on the recruiting trail with
No Guts No Glory NC
. He’s a 6-foot-7 prospect that’s learning how to utilize his length on the defensive to turn it into easy scores on the offensive side of the ball. Add that to his ability to get hot in a hurry on the perimeter and he’s instantly an impact player on the hardwood. Louisiana Tech is the latest college program to offer him as Division I’s start to show their needs.

is a name that continues to climb up the radar as he shows his consistency in the No Guts No Glory rotation. He’s a wiry wing/forward prospect that’s shown he can attack the painted area and create his own shot off the bounce. As he improves his handling and frame in the weight room, look for some LM schools in the region to pull the trigger.

Put together a solid showing in their first-round matchup against ECA, scoring 22 Points and making several plays above the rim. He didn’t have his best day shooting wise but what we really appreciated was the fact that he didn’t allow his off-shooting day to affect the rest of his game.

is a prospect that’s really coming into his own in the No Guts No Glory rotation. He’s a wiry, 6-foot-7 forward that can get up the floor in a hurry and finish at the rim. He’s starting to knock down his shot off the bounce and off the catch on the perimeter and as he shows his consistency as a shooter, look for his recruitment to really grow. He’s a prospect for DI and DII programs in the region to get eyes on.

Otyaluk’s blend of size and skillset has made him one of my favorite players in the 2024 class. First, his athletic profile as a 6’7 wing. He’s quick and shifty enough to push the ball like a guard, but a super long frame that helps him be a disruptor defensively and guard multiple positions. He’s continuing to develop a somewhat funky jumper and step out and shoot the three ball, but really he thrives in transition where he can push the ball. He’s a one man show; cleaning up the defensive glass, busting the ball out, and finishing at the other end. If he can continue to knock down jumpers at a higher clip and put a little weight on his frame, he’s got D1 potential. I love his playstyle as a transition threat that can wreak havoc on both ends of the floor.

Otyaluk was impressive all weekend, and I couldn’t believe he was 6’7 and able to handle the ball as well as he did in transition. He was an absolute bullet in open space, and his physical archetype is difficult to handle when he’s picked up speed and is moving downhill. He’s wiry but strong, and a matchup nightmare for almost every player out there. He was able to play above the rim as well, catching a lob or two and skying high for rebounds. His perimeter game is still improving, but his slashing ability was among the best I saw all weekend. Keep an eye on him in this upcoming class.
