Below is a review of our preseason Top 10 public school basketball teams from southeastern Pennsylvania.

1. Imhotep Charter: The defending 5A state champions no longer have Justin Edward's (Kentucky), but they still return enough talent to keep them in the top spot. All-State guard [player_tooltip player_id='1281786' first='Ahmad' last='Nowell'] (UConn commit) will bejoined by highly regarded 2026 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1613878' first='RJ' last='Smith'] and transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1611931' first='Kody' last='Colson'] to form an outstanding three guard rotation. Forwards [player_tooltip player_id='1477721' first='Ma'Kye' last='Taylor'] (Albany commit) and [player_tooltip player_id='1173985' first='Jeremiah' last='White'] are long athletes who can score in transition or on the interior. [player_tooltip player_id='1888747' first='Latief' last='Lorenzano-White'] and Zaahir Muhammad-Grey provide firepower on the wings. [player_tooltip player_id='2047550' first='Carnell' last='Henderson'] is a DI prospect flying under the radar. 2027 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='2407095' first='Zion' last='Green'] will turn heads too.

2. Executive Education ACS: This roster boasts a trio of perimeter prospects who can really fill it up. Scoring point guard Rylan Muniz (16.6 ppg.), shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1764304' first='Gabe' last='Hornberger'] (12 ppg.) and combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2047680' first='Jaden' last='Shipley'] can all pop from behind the arc and create off the dribble. Complimenting those three is the interior play of 6'9” power forward [player_tooltip player_id='1850279' first='Lamine' last='Sanoh']. He is a beast on the glass at both ends. 2025 guard Heavin McCain will make major contributions as well.

3. Constitution: 6'5” scoring machine [player_tooltip player_id='1123887' first='Amir' last='Speights'] is the headliner for a Generals squad that should post an outstanding 2023-24 season. Running with Speights will be elite floor general [player_tooltip player_id='1130841' first='Kyree' last='Latimer']. He does a fantastic job of controlling the tempo of a game. Shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1865352' first='Talasi' last='Henderson'] will stretch the floor with his 3-point shooting. Look for transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1848507' first='Perry' last='Fields'] to provide wing scoring and work as a secondary ball handler. Fields is one of the best kept secrets in the region.

4. Spring Ford: In 2022-23 Spring Ford posted a historic season as they were the PAC Champs; the D1-6A runner ups and a 6A state semifinalists. With most of their key players returning, SF has the potential to improve on last year's results. Elite shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1460771' first='Jacob' last='Nguyen'] (multiple DI offers) and combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1281774' first='EJ' last='Campbell'] return to lead SF. They will be joined in the backcourt by quick and skilled 2026 guard prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1454265' first='Lymir' last='Green']. Multi-skilled forward Tommy Kelley is back to handle all the dirty work. Intriguing 2026 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1454268' first='Oben' last='Mokonchu'] appears ready for to step into the spotlight. Athletic 6'5” forward [player_tooltip player_id='2391414' first='Matt' last='Zollers'] (DI football recruit) will contribute in many ways.

5. Unionville: Unionville finished last season as the District-1 5A runner up and made it to the state tournament. The bulk of that squad returns in 2023-24 and they are hungry for more. The 2024 guard trio of Charlie Kammeier, James Anderson, and [player_tooltip player_id='1850283' first='Ryan' last='Brown'] will lead Unionville. All three of these seniors can score, handle the rock, and distribute. The Longhorns will also feature he talents of [player_tooltip player_id='1493066' first='James' last='Brenner']. He is one of the top 2026 stretch-4 prospects in the area. [player_tooltip player_id='2383329' first='Nick' last='Diehl'] is a 6'6” athletic and high IQ small forward we expect will contribute on the interior.

Rest of the Top 10….

6. Coatesville

7. Central York

8. West Philly

9. Plymouth Whitemarsh

10. Reading
