Gonzales is a very smart passer, finding ways to set up teammates with easy shots across the floor. Effective threading passes through tight windows, the guard does an excellent job combining flash and IQ, having a bit of fun on passes. Either no looks or fakes, Gonzales is among the most exciting passers in the class. He shows confidence under duress, capable of stepping into three point attempts in big moments. His ability to add strength will be necessary for him at the next level, although he boasts notable upside, a true pass first guard.
Highlights
Trimm has immense upside as a strong and athletic lead guard. Capable of muscling opponents on drives, the guard does an excellent job of leveraging his size to create easy finishes at the rim with either hand. Gaining more and more willingness to throw down dunks, Trimm has steadily become more difficult to slow down above the rim. Given the heavy gravity he attracts while attacking, defenses often collapse, allowing opportunities on kickouts. Defensively, the guard shows potential matching up with both backcourt spots, strong yet athletic. Consistency is ultimately a key for Trimm, although he boasts upside with anyone in the class. The guard’s impact facilitating a very young program will be especially interesting, taking on the bulk of ball handling responsibilities yet again.
Highlights
Brunton is a tall lead guard who shows scoring upside on all three levels. Likely taking on a larger role yet again, the guard is often taking the bulk of ball handling responsibilities to set up the offense. Capable of flowing into attempts off of movement, the guard has immense potential scoring from anywhere on the floor. His positional size makes him taught to deal with at the high school level, too tall to have a small guard on but quick enough to get by opposing wings. Similar to Trimm, Brunton’s ability to balance shotmaking and passing volume will be intriguing, given his benefit of seeing above the defense.
Highlights
Muna is a high motor guard comfortable playing at 100 miles an hour. At home in transition, the guard is not only adept but actively seeks out transition situations at all times. Comfortable getting up high for finishes at the rim, Muna has no trouble finishing through hard contests and contact. Active, attracting contact for fouls, there are few undersized guards with Muna’s grit. Let us not forget that the guard is an elite ball handler and decision maker, excellent at controlling speeds while on the attack.
Highlights
Rangel is a smooth lead guard, effectively stepping into shots off the bounce. The lefty can control the pace in the halfcourt, slowing down the tempo when needed to get to a jump shot. Effective getting to step backs or short floaters within the mid-range, the guard does an excellent job of leveraging tight space. If necessary, the guard can leverage his scoring gravity for assists to cutters or perimeter shooters.
