is an automatic sniper from way downtown, and he showcased his confidence on full display against Highlands Ranch, converting 57% from 3 and 50% from the field. Finding open teammates and asserting his presence on both ends make Rangel one of the best hoopers on the floor at all times. The #4-ranked PG in the senior class continues making his mark, despite the close loss.

Rangel is a verified bucket, and it’s been that way for a few years now. He impacts the game in various ways, plays with full effort, and looks better in each outing that I’ve seen him. Thing is, he’s very confident with he ball in his hands, and is a smooth scorer that brings consistency. He’s scored in double figures in all but two games in the last two seasons, he’s efficient from the field, and can play both on and off the ball. He’s an improved shooter who spaces the floor and gets downhill and scores with ease. He should get to 1,000 points in the next few games and finish off his career as one of Heritage’s big scorers. Excited to see what he does to push his team for a playoff run.

Rangel continues leading Heritage and does it with his remarkable consistency and efficient scoring. Averaging 20.1 points per game while scoring in double digits every outing, he delivers night in and night out without forcing plays. His mid range game highlighted by a smooth floater, keeps defenders off balance and his ability to create and facilitate for teammates shows high basketball IQ. He knows how to read the defense, attack intelligently and make the right play at the right time. That combination of scoring, smart playmaking and reliability has made Rangel a player everyone is taking notice of, steadily pushing him higher in the rankings

Rangel is the ultimate X-factor despite already being Heritage’s leading scorer and engine. Something clicked late in his junior year, and he went on a scoring tear against top competition while also leading the team in assists. As a junior, double-figure scoring became routine, and the offense ran through him. He’ll be asked again to make it happen. For Heritage to make a push, he’ll have to be even better. I’m expecting him to turn some heads this season as he looks to have his team compete.

Rangel is as steady as they come, and in his junior year, something clicked for him. He went on a scoring barrage to finish off the season as he put up some monster numbers against some of the top teams in the state, while being the focal point of the offense. He scored in double figures in all but three games, led the team in assists, and just continued to show why he’s one of the better scorers in the state. I’m curious to see the type of season that he has as he’s capable of getting his team some wins. I’m expecting another big season for him and think Heritage will turn some heads this season, which will get him some extra attention. He makes a pretty big jump in the rankings this go-round.

Rangel is a smooth lead guard, effectively stepping into shots off the bounce. The lefty can control the pace in the halfcourt, slowing down the tempo when needed to get to a jump shot. Effective getting to step backs or short floaters within the mid-range, the guard does an excellent job of leveraging tight space. If necessary, the guard can leverage his scoring gravity for assists to cutters or perimeter shooters.
