Caldwell brings very unique offensive skills as a stretch big man, continuing to refine his perimeter shooting on spot-up attempts. There simply are not many guys at his height who bring consistency stretching out the floor. If against a favorable matchup in the post, Caldwell can get to pivot finishes or short hook shots when presented the opportunity. Defensively, they possess a wide reach that stifles drives, particularly for incoming guards. He has continued to improve his discipline while defending the rim, fouling less and committing to both arms straight up. At his best on the help side, Caldwell and Lutheran will be an incredibly difficult program to contain both on the glass and in the paint.

is a ferocious big not to be messed with. His impact in the paint is unquestionable, as he’s always looking to dominate on both ends of the court. His intimidation and shot blocking is impressive, and not to mention he has quite a stroke from beyond the arc. While maintaining his skill on the court, he’s soft spoken and humble off the court too. His versatility will be crucial for Lutheran High School’s success this season.

Hunter played well during Top 250 Expo, he scored from all 3 levels of the floor with ease. He also was a menace on the defensive side of the ball, guarding 1-5 effectively.

Going into the event, Hunter Caldwell was a prospect I wanted to check out. It is safe to say that he lived up to the expectations I had for him. Caldwell showcased his ability to score with his back to the basket over smaller defenders. He has a really soft touch around the rim, and a nice turn around jumper in his bag as well. Caldwell can even step out and shoot it from deep. Defensively, Caldwell does a great job at walling up and forcing the offense to finish over top, which is not an easy task.
