Hastedt could be one of the biggest beneficiaries of Lutheran’s changing rotation, and we’re excited to see how much his stock can rise with an aggressive season. We saw him take a significant step forward in the postseason, scoring 12 points in the Great 8 and another 15 in the semifinals while showing he could handle the responsibility of running the offense. What impressed us was his ability to balance scoring with getting teammates involved, playing with poise and making timely decisions. That carried into the summer with Mile High Collective, where he looked more confident, aggressive and comfortable creating opportunities. His perimeter shooting forces defenders to respect him beyond the arc, and he’s shown the awareness to attack openings or find teammates when defenses collapse. This year, we’re looking for Hastedt to take ownership of that offensive role and become a consistent difference-maker. He made 2nd Team All-Conference as a junior, we expect him to put himself in the conversation again this year. Solid prospect that we’re curious to see how he looks this year.

Hastedt played with purpose all weekend for Mile High Collective, showing the confidence and aggression of a player determined to make an impact. As a skilled guard, he consistently stretched the floor with his shooting ability, forcing defenders to stay attached well beyond the arc. That attention opened driving lanes for both himself and his teammates, as he regularly drew multiple defenders and made the right basketball play. Hastedt showed a strong feel for the game, scoring efficiently while keeping the offense flowing. His combination of perimeter shooting, offensive awareness and steady production made him one of the more effective guards throughout the tournament

Lutheran is going to be a team that we start hearing more and more from as they return a pretty big name over there and move into the contender category. But one of the players who has benefited from more play, who has been their backup guards, Hastedt who has been impactful. He’s a consistent scorer who reads the floor, he is a confident shooter who excels with the ball in his hands, and he also fills it up with boards as well. When he is operating the offense, it seems to flow a bit more as he has great vision and IQ and is a willing passer. He’s a prospect who we have enjoyed watching and want to see more of as he does it all for Lutheran.

Hastedt is a high IQ guard that got to get some minutes as a sophomore and now steps into an important junior season where he will be asked to do a ton more. He has to be ready for the pressure that opposing teams will give Lutheran, take care of the ball, and still be able to get his own, as they will need some scoring from guards this season. He’s a shifty PG that can score the ball, he competes on both ends of the floor, and runs the offense. As an under-the-radar player, this can be his opportunity to show that he’s ready for all of that and more, and we want to see him get out and prove it.
