leads the state in APG at a whopping 7.8 APG. The 5’5 senior is as shifty as it gets, blowing by his assignment and getting flashy around the rim. It’s apparent that Muna is always having fun on the hardwood, and when you make plays as consistently as he does, it’s easy to understand why. In addition to spreading the love, Muna also tacks on 4.2 SPG and 4.6 RPG. Muna proves that heart over height will always prevail, and the coaching staff at Banning Lewis is appreciative of that.

establishes his presence on the defensive side of the ball, staying in between passing lanes and communicating on screens effectively. Muna’s hustle is never in question, with a helpful contribution of 2 SPG and 8.2 PPG. One of Muna’s most impressive pieces to his game is his raw playmaking swagger. Distributing the ball has never been an issue for Muna, who’s averaging nearly 4 APG with precision passes to open teammates. Muna gets the crowd going early with maintained energy throughout all four quarters.

Zander is a bucket, in every sense of the word. This summer he showcased himself as one of the shiftiest guards in the state. Opposing guards have a difficult time keeping him in front of them, and he’s able to score amongst the trees, knock down 3-pointers from deep, and creates for himself and teammates. I like his poise and control of the ball. He handles pressure well, reads what the defense is giving him, and keeps teammates involved. I expect him to have one of the better overall seasons from a statistical performance and for his team to make a deep push. He will likely rise by the next ranking update, but for now, he makes a big leap. Go watch Muna if you have the opportunity.

Talk about effort. Talk about leading his team or making the correct play; this one did consistently. On the morning, I was able to take in most of two games that his team played. Both times, the opposing coach picked him as the player of the game. Even though he stands 5’7″ish, he just took it to the other team and gave them nothing but headaches. The first thing I noted about his play is the ability to turn defense into office on a regular basis.

Muna’s constant motor has to be commended, proving that small guards can succeed within winning contexts, even at the 6A level. A dynamic ball handler who can leverage his low center of gravity against taller defenders, he does a great job keeping the handle live to find the open teammate. This Doherty group’s most efficient three point shooter, he has worked to stretch out defenses, given the lack of size to score in the paint.

Muna is a smaller guard but he made some huge plays over the weekend with some excellent anticipation and creativity to get teammates involved and outsmart opposing players. He is a quick guard with excellent body control and awareness and was especially effective playmaking on the break or getting his team out of trouble when the offense broke down. He had 3+ assists and 2+ steals in every game of the tournament.

Decisive creating offensive plays for the team, Muna constantly kickstarted fast breaks, leading the break. With the ball on a string, the Doherty guard looks to get deep into the paint, drawing in multiple defenders for timely passes. Still a tenacious defender one on one, opponents shied away from him while at the point of attack.

Zander is the definition of a defensive menace, always getting into the offensive player’s space and either forcing turnovers or grabbing steals. Offensively, he’s lightning quick, using his speed to blow by defenders and create opportunities at the rim or dish to open teammates. His relentless energy makes him a headache for opposing guards on both ends of the floor.

Muna has the ball on string regardless of direction, excellent at changing speeds on a dime, maximizing his low center of gravity. Adept at utilizing ball screens to either facilitate for teammates or create mid-range shot attempts, the guard has been proactive at both 17U and 16U levels this summer. Effective pulling up for mid-range attempts with limited space, the small guard is about as skilled as anyone in the class.

While undersized, Muna makes up for that with immense skill, excellent at handling pressure. With the ball on a string alongside notable pull-up shooting efficiency, Muna has repeatedly proven himself as a productive starting level guard at the high school level. He competes like few others on the defensive end, seemingly bringing limitless energy to instigate ball handlers and passing lanes.
