Continue ReadingBarger is a strong, mobile forward who remains among the most productive frontcourt prospects in the state. Particularly effective scoring out of the post, the forward has one of the more consistent hook shots available. Possessing a particularly quick vertical leap, Barger will be particularly productive rebounding the ball on either end of the floor. The forward’s defensive upside is noteworthy, mobile yet sturdy if needed to guard inside or out. The junior forward currently holds an offer from MSU Denver.
Highlights
Thomason has had an incredible summer, already a physical and athletic finisher around the basket. The forward has continued to round out his perimeter game, making him that much more diverse scoring the ball. Already capable of going right at opponents for finishes at the basket, Thomason invites contact to draw fouls. Alongside his physicality, Thomason embraces opportunities down low, possessing an incredibly high motor on the glass. No doubt that the forward can be one of most impactful and high energy options within the state. His continued growth hitting spot-up threes has been incredibly valuable, opening up the lane that much more. Thomason currently holds an offer from RMAC program, Colorado Mesa.
Highlights
Graham is a bouncy, wiry strong guard who boasts tons of upside on both ends of the floor. Bringing in plenty of attention to his highlight plays above the rim, there are few defenders capable of matching his verticality at the basket. His eye opening leap should allow him to be a staunch shot blocker this season, alongside his steady growth in strength. Offensively, the guard is continuing to refine their game, progressing as a floor spacer. Certainly dependable off the catch, the guard should provide immense two-way value throughout this season. Graham’s ability to stay a threat without the ball will be worth monitoring, as he shows plenty of upside throughout the preseason.
Rhoades-Martinez is more than comfortable playing at full speed in transition, doing an excellent job getting into the paint to draw in the defense. Given his tight handle with either hand, the guard does an excellent job creating space for attempts around the rim. Defensively, Rhoades-Martinez is a pesky defender, quick to take away space to create a deflection. His low center of gravity and strong frame allows the guard to match up effectively against a wide variety of backcourt opponents.
Riehl is among the state’s better shotmakers from the perimeter, possessing deep range and quick feet. The guard can get to shot attempts off the catch or dribble, having no trouble pulling up from NBA range at an efficient rate. Mesa Ridge’s undefeated season came in no small part from Riehl’s production, notching 41% from beyond the arc, on nearly 7 attempts per game last season. Comfortable playing under chaotic circumstances, his tight handle may be leveraged for driving lanes, given that so many opponents are forced to go over on screens. Exciting season ahead for Riehl and Mesa Ridge, who remains one of the state’s most dominant programs in the 5A class.
