Nearly 250 teams across three age groups from all over the Midwest and beyond descended on the north side of Indianapolis to compete for a championship. Ultimately, we crowded Indiana Game Elite, Ohio United-McClure, and Kyle Guy Elite Black as our Prep Hoops Circuit Grit Region champions in the 15u, 16u, and 17u brackets respectively. Now, it is time to start releasing our All-Tournament Teams. On Tuesday we announced the 15u and 16u All-Tournament Teams. Now, we will take a look at the 17u age division. Let’s dive on in.
First Team
This intriguing 6’5″ prospect started the weekend off scoring 30 points in M14 Hoops Adidas Gold’s opening round win and never looked back leading his team in scoring until their run came to an end in the Prep Hoops Circuit Grit Region Finals 17u Final Four. Blissett is a bigger wing with length and athleticism to be a two-way force on the perimeter. He is no stranger to our All-Tournament teams and earned first team honors once again to cap off the summer while averaging over 20 points per contest.
If we were naming a Most Valuable Player from the Prep Hoops Circuit Grit Region Finals it would be safe to say that Eli Ellis Eli Ellis 5’11” | SG Plainfield | 2024 State IN would win in unanimous fashion. The 5’11” guard was absolutely sensational throughout the weekend leading Kyle Guy Elite Black to the 17u title. Ellis is a truly elite shooter that put a bow on his incredible weekend by scoring 30 points in their Final Four victory and backed it up with a 27-point performance in a comeback win against Kentucky Future Elite to bring home the trophy.
Highlights
You will be hard pressed to find a better backcourt duo than that of Mac Boys Basketball 2024. The Lutheran West duo led their high school team to a state finals appearance and advanced to the Prep Hoops Grit Region Finals 17u Final Four this past weekend as well. Fairley was a big part of that showcasing his dynamic playmaking ability and consistently lead Mac Boys on the offensive end. College programs continue to get more and more involved with this two-way guard prospect.
Mirus burst onto the scene this weekend averaging 14.2 points per game while also dishing out several assists and helping rebound from the guard spot. Kentucky Future Elite 2024 was consistently one of the best teams on the Prep Hoops Circuit this spring and summer and it was their balanced attack that made them so difficult to beat. This 6’1″ point guard will make a small college coach very happy in the future. He was a big part of leading his team to the 17u championship game before falling in a close one to Kyle Guy Elite Black.
Whitaker averaged 13.6 points per game while shooting lights out as usual for Kentucky Future Elite on their way to reaching the 17u championship game of the Prep Hoops Circuit Grit Region Finals. He turned it up later in the tournament as he scored 20 points in their Elite Eight and Final Four wins. The 6’2″ guard from Somerset High School was arguably one of the best players on the Circuit throughout the spring and summer and certainly backed that up by reaching the title game on the final weekend.
