In his last career high school game, Bays went out with another high scoring effort. The entire Southview offense runs through Bays with a ton of pick and roll, isolations and off-ball screens set to free Bays for shots. With Bays high volume of shots, he drew a ton of fouls and lived at the free throw line. With his pace, feel and shot making ability, Bays is one of the top scorers in northwest Ohio and drawing attention from a variety of scholarship programs. We’ll be following Bays continued basketball journey at the college level!

A prospect we are very familiar with from his time on the Prep Hoops Circuit, Bays has continued his rise with a stellar senior season. Playing with solid pace and having the body and skill level to get where he needs to off the dribble, Bays is one of the top scorers in NW Ohio. Bays holds an offer from Lourdes and has numerous Division II programs interested as well. Lourdes has done a nice job keeping Toledo area talent, we’ll see if Bays joins the WHAC powerhouse or if he leaves Sylvania for his college career.

A player we’ve seen a lot from his time at Hopson Elite on the Prep Hoops Circuit, Bays continues to impress and has already had some big scoring games as a senior. Combine that with a strong performance at the Toledo Top 64 and Bays saw his stock rise since the last update at the end of July. With 22 points in a win over Perrysburg and 27 in a win over Bowling Green, Bays has Southview playing good basketball as we head into January and turn the corner on the season. Bays is one of the top guards in northwest Ohio and has already received an offer from local NAIA unbeaten Lourdes.

Bays is a highlight waiting to happen and it was his show on Thursday night against Perrysburg. He plays with immense confidence and swag to his game. He can do whatever he wants on the floor and he knows it. He is a score-first point guard for Southview, but that is because he has to. Even though that his is role he possesses a great ability to pass and court vision. If he sees you have an easier finish than him, the ball will be on you hot. He can do it all athletically and has some great talent. He had a half-court dunk that got the crowd out of his seat. His size and body allow him to dictate and absorb contact. He scored more than half of the Cougars’ points and made me look easy.

Bays is one of the better senior guards in the NWO area this year. He can do it all on both ends. His size and athleticism are a great foundation for the next level. He can score it on all three levels but is a get-to-the-rim first guard because of his size and leaping ability. He is tough to stop from finishing. He can guard any perimeter position. He has some showtime athletic ability. Bays is someone to watch this year for Southview.

Bays is similar to Brown in a way that he can do it all. Super good size and strength with next-level athleticism. He showcased this all on both ends but what impressed me is he knew his role and how to play with his teammates very quickly. He was the point guard and distributor a lot for his team. A portion he showed he can play at the next level. He was making some next-level reads and passes. One which made the crowd react. Bays was getting the rim and scoring a ton and dishing it out. I am a big fan of Bays’ game and he proved to be one of the top guards in the area on Sunday.

Bays is one of the most underrated guards in the state that will show out and impress. He can do it all. Listed at 6’1 he has a really good size and, a strong body. He is a tremendous athlete. He can jump out the guy, fast with a good first step, and great fluid movement. Bays is very smooth when he runs. Great change of pace to his game. He is a tremendous slasher who can put the ball in the rim himself or find an open teammate. He can finish over, around, or through you. He has a nice smooth jumper, but he’d rather put you on skates and get to the rim when he has the ball on the perimeter. He scored a school-record 43 points last year. Defensively, he can guard any guard and wing you throw at him. His size allows him to bang with bigger players and his quickness can be stifling for any guard. He puts great pressure on the other team’s guards.

Bays wasn’t Hopson Elite’s leading scorer on Friday on their way to earning a spot in the Prep Hoops Grit Region Finals Sweet 16. However, the 6’3″ point guard was arguably the engine that ran the offense to their success. He has a tight handle, good size at the position, and is a really smooth athlete. Bays displayed the ability to stop on the dime for pull-up jumpers and played off of two feet at the end of his drives.
