Six Prospects to Watch at the Freshman Showcase - Part Four

We are just days away from the annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. This is always the best event that we put on every year and is a very valuable resource for both our scouting staff and the players who attend. Class of 2030 prospects from around the state ensure that they are on the radar heading into their respective freshman seasons. Meanwhile, we get to build our database with over 100 names early on in the process and evaluate many of the top incoming freshmen under one roof. As registrations continue to roll in we will be highlighting some of the prospects that we are most excited to watch. Butler, a 5'8" point guard in the freshman class, will be one to watch over the years for the Panthers. He is quick with the ball in his hands, makes good decisions from a live dribble, and is active as an on-ball defender. We are excited to have him be a part of our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase where we will get to evaluate him against the best of his peers.     We were very impressed with the incoming Class of 2030 throughout the summer, especially at the Charlie Hughes Showcase, when watching Franklin Community High School. King has a chance to be a special prospect as he already features an athletic 6'5" frame and intriguing versatile skill set. His ability to toggle between several positions on both ends of the floor should get him into the varsity rotation right away. We will get a good look at where he stacks up on a statewide basis on the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.     One of the top incoming freshman in South Bend, Northern will have a chance to break into a very talent South Bend St. Joseph High School backcourt right away. He is an explosive playmaker that will likely be handed the keys to the car after this coming season. Northern is one of the most talented ball handlers and pure point guards statewide in the Class of 2030 right now. We are very excited to have him be a part of the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.     From a statistical standpoint Patterson will be a top Class of 2030 prospect to watch throughout his freshman season. He put up some huge scoring numbers for Crispus Attucks High School at the Charlie Hughes Showcase and has established himself as one of the best players and prospects in the class. Patterson is strong and physical off of the bounce. His ability to overpower defenders is his best trait right now. We are very excited to watch him play with and against some of the other best players in the freshman class.     To the extent that there is a projected top prospect in Indiana's Class of 2030 already it would likely be Robinson. He immediately checks all of the boxes in terms of athletic and physical tools. The 6'7" forward is a two-way menace that can play above the rim, operate in the open floor, and then dominant the paint defense. Robinson is as advanced of a rebounder as I've seen in a long time for a freshman. The combination of finesse and physicality makes him a nightmare matchup. Look for Robinson to be a day one impact player for Lawrence North High School.     Shepherd was a consistent top performer for a very good [program_tooltip program_id='2400000' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Indiana'] 14u team this spring and summer. The 5'10" guard is a good ball handler, sets his teammates up well as a playmaker, and can stretch the floor as a perimeter shot-maker. We are very excited to evaluate Shepherd further at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. He will be a freshman at Carmel High School.
