Team 10 players showed a variety of talents which allowed them to standout at the Prephoops Freshman Showcase.

I enjoyed watching this young man put in work Sunday morning/afternoon. Kade played his position like a big man who has guard skills. He showed the ability to post up smaller players and dominate in the paint. Kade was also great at attacking defenders off the dribble and making perimeter jump-shots. There were a few circumstances where he scored on tough drives to the basket. One of those drives led to a foul being called and the completion of a three-point play from the foul-line. He's a hardworking player who gave maximum effort on both sides of the ball. Kade is a great rebounder who attacked the glass with ferociousness! Especially on the offensive side of the court. When his teammates missed shots, Kade was there to grab and score it. He's a solid player with a bright future in the game of basketball.

Jonah is a pure scorer! Every time I watch him play, he puts up great offensive numbers. In Sunday's games, he wasn't as aggressive as he normally plays. Jonah is a crafty scorer who gets to the basket and scores on tough drives in the paint. In game 2 he showed the ability to knock down a high percentage of his jump-shots. Jonah is an exceptional mid-range shooter who has the capability of extending his range beyond the three-point line. He's the type of player who gave maximum effort on both ends of the basketball court. Jonah is a shooting guard who can catch fire at any given moment. Once he sees a shot drop, he's capable of reeling off four or five baskets in a row. I expect Jonah to be a focal point of the Sheridan offense in the coming years.

Parker showcased the skills of a point forward position. He handles the ball, scores, passes and defends. Parker showed great play-making ability by making pin-point passes. These plays led to numerous scores for other teammates. He also beat defenders and scored tough baskets on numerous occasions. In some cases, he was the primary facilitator of the team 10 offense. Whether it was his teammates cutting down the lane or flowing around within the offense, Parker always made the right play. Defensively, he used his length to be a nuisance. Parker made handling the ball a difficult task for the opposition. He generated multiple steals in game 3. Once Parker boost up his scoring, the sky's the limit for this young man.

The big man has the potential of being a special player in the near future. His size and skill gave him a distinct advantage over the opposition. Brody was the best rebounder and low post scorer on the basketball court. He dominated the glass on offense and defense. After watching him play, I believe he could become a complete player when he develops a consistent jump-shot. These skills will come with continued growth. In game 2 a majority of his scores came from the offensive rebounds he grabbed. Defensively, is where Brody shined! His physical presence made scoring a difficult task for the opposition. He excelled at blocking shots and protecting the paint. Brody is a young player with great upside. I expect him to successfully adjust to high school basketball.

He's a shifty ball handler who used a variety of moves to get around defenders. Maksim is a team player who does all the necessary things to help his squad win. Whether it's attacking the basket, fighting for rebounds, knocking down timely jump-shots or defending, Maksim was there to make it happen. He's an efficient passer who had a knack for making the right play. When he had an opportunity to hit others with accurate passes, Maksim took full advantage. A majority of his baskets were scored when team 10 ran the fast-break. He converted numerous lay-ups in transition. In regard to defending, he excelled at timing the pass lanes and generating steals. Maksim is a promising player who could be a difference maker at the high school level.

Noah was the best point guard on team 10. His overall skills stood out during the Prephoops Freshman Showcase. This young man is the complete package! He's a shifty guard with elite ball handling skills. Noah showed the ability to attack defenders going either right or left. He excelled at using his speed to beat defenders to the basket. Most of his drives led to easy scores at the rim. Noah showed all the traits of being a great play-maker. His flashy passes led to high percentage shots for his teammates. He's a high energy player who looks to push the pace and attack opposing defenses. Noah also showed the ability to knock down short perimeter shots and long distance threes. Whether it was scoring, assisting or generating steals, Noah was a major problem for opposing teams. Noah is an elite player who has the talent to play high level basketball as a true freshman.

Carter is the type of player who does everything for the team. Whether it was scoring, rebounding, defending or assisting, he always found himself in the right place at the right time. Carter had a quiet game offensively in game 1. This did not deter him from being effective in other facets of the game. He effectively grabbed rebounds on both ends of the court. Some of the defensive boards he grabbed, turned into passing outlets which led to fast-break scores. Carter was great at making plays with his passing ability. He showed a knack for finding other teammates for easy scores. Defensively, he forced multiple turnovers and took a couple of key charges in the game. Carter is an excellent all around player who does all the intangibles at a high level. I believe he's capable of becoming a top player in the Greenfield-Central basketball program for years to come.

Team 10 players showed a variety of talents which allowed them to standout at the Prephoops Freshman Showcase.
