Gonzales will be a player to watch and will be on some radars as he lead all freshman in assist and was top 35 in the state in the category. He is a player that does it all for the Bluedevils being able to drop some dimes, contribute in the scoring column and being a pest on the defensive end coming away with steals. He has great vision on the court and will only get better as the game starts to slow down for him. He is constantly creating good shots for his teammate then getting back on defense. He is quick to pick a players pocket and then finishing in transition or finding the open teammate for an easy basket. He is a high energy guard that flies around and can make things happen on both ends of the court and is not afraid to chip in on the boards as well. He is a player that has a lot of potential and will continue to build on that.
Highlights
Lebron is a competitor and gets after it on both ends of the court. He was a player that stood out at the prospect camp and he was doing it consistently throughout the year as well. He can extent the defense with his three ball and he has a tight handle so he can blow by defenders as well, finishing in the midrange or at the basket over taller defenders. If the defense crashes in then he doesn’t hesitate to hit the open teammate as well keeping the ball moving. He is a pest on defense as well and was in the top 10 for freshmen in steals. He makes it difficult on the opposing ball handler and he applies pressure early forcing them in turnovers. He is a player that will make it on a lot of radars with his playing style and his approach to the game.
Highlights
Muna is a player that the first thing you notice is his size, you quickly forget about that because the second thing you notice is his motor. He is a high energy guard that likes to go battle in the paint with the taller defenders. He is another player that caught some attention at the prospect camp with his ability to finish inside through contact and continued to get into the paint for opportunities. He does have good vision being able to navigate through traffic and dish it back out when he doesn’t have anything inside. On the defensive end he was not a liability with his size, he was flying around making plays and was keeping a lot of pressure on the ball handler. Will be a high energy guard to keep an eye on.
Highlights
Chavez is a player that is under the radar but has been a force for his team in the scoring column as well as on the boards. He is a player that can score on all three levels and can finish inside through traffic. He is active on the offensive boards and is quick off his feet to go back up when he gets the rebound. He excels in the paint but can be good from midrange when he gets going which helps him get the defense to come step out. On the defensive end he is active in the passing lanes, tipping passes and and trapping the ball handler. He is able to get the ball out and get into transition finishing or getting his teammates involved.
Highlights
Placide is a player that turned it on at the end of the year and was making an impact for the Wolves heading into playoffs. He is a knock down shooter who can extend the defense and he has length so can shoot over defenders as well. He is able to finish through contact at the rim and doesn’t give up much height to the bigs. He plays the passing lanes really well and is quick to get out in transition finishing at the rim. He can help in the paint as well with his height blocking shots and making it difficult on the offense altering shots. He is able to create his own shots with his handle and is a matchup problem for smaller guards. He has a lot of upside and will be a player to watch in a tough Centennial league that has some talented guards that can score.
