An excellent perimeter shooter off the catch, the guard is notably confident in his skillset, not wavered by the closeout. One of the few lefty shotmakers around, the guard is a treat for this level. They compete defensively, getting into help to take a charge, eager to make plays no matter the circumstances.

A volume shotmaker, the guard recently came off of a 25 point performance on 5 made threes. His point of attack defense has stood out, effective walling off the opponent while getting a hand into their space for a steal.

Chavez is a tough cover because he can do so many different things on the floor. Creating for himself off the dribble is how he was able to get going on offense, allowing him to help his teammates get going from 3 and made it easier for everybody around him.

Chavez is a player that is under the radar but has been a force for his team in the scoring column as well as on the boards. He is a player that can score on all three levels and can finish inside through traffic. He is active on the offensive boards and is quick off his feet to go back up when he gets the rebound. He excels in the paint but can be good from midrange when he gets going which helps him get the defense to come step out. On the defensive end he is active in the passing lanes, tipping passes and and trapping the ball handler. He is able to get the ball out and get into transition finishing or getting his teammates involved.
