Evan Mckean is one of the most intriguing guards in the class due to his growth spurt and growing comfortability playing the point guard position. Evan has always been a knockdown shooter off the catch and he has improved his shooting ability off the dribble as well. Running the point guard position he has shown big improvements in setting up teammates for scoring opportunities. Evan’s great size as a guard standing at 6’2 has helped him to take advantage of smaller matchups on occasion as he becomes more confident I expect to see more of that.
Lorenzo Contreras Lorenzo Contreras 5'9" | PG Smoky Hill | 2025 State CO – Smoky Hill
Lorenzo Contreras Lorenzo Contreras 5'9" | PG Smoky Hill | 2025 State CO is a small guard who just has that dawg mentality. On the defensive end, Lorenzo uses his smaller frame to his advantage to get under opposing guards’ skin when guarding the ball. He is a super quick player who makes decisive moves to get a step on defenders. He is an impressive scorer in the in-between using mid-range pull-up jumpers and floaters to catch defenders off guard. Lorenzo is a high IQ to guard to watch this upcoming season with a young Smoky Hill squad.
Anthony Nettles Anthony Nettles 5'10" | PG Douglas County | 2025 State CO – Douglas County
Anthony Nettles Anthony Nettles 5'10" | PG Douglas County | 2025 State CO is a guard who stands out with his abilities on the defensive end of the floor. Anthony has great instincts on the defensive end and plays with excellent effort. When guarding the ball Anthony has the lateral foot speed to stay in front of quick guards and active hands to create steals. Anthony plays with infectious energy on the floor, making momentum-shifting plays on both ends. He has a good handle on the ball and sees most of his scoring from attacking the rim.
Ty Yoder Ty Yoder 5'10" | PG Resurrection Christian | 2025 State CO – Resurrection Christian
Ty Yoder Ty Yoder 5'10" | PG Resurrection Christian | 2025 State CO has been a very impressive prospect so far throughout his high school career and is expected to have another big year during his sophomore campaign. Ty controls the pace of the game using his shifty handle and change of pace to throw defenders off. He is a respectable shooter off the catch and dribble but once he is a rhythm he can go on big scoring runs. Ty does a good job of getting teammates involved and will be a good guard to watch with an intriguing Resurrection Christian squad.
Elijah Mack – Doherty
Elijah Mack is a smaller guard who stands out due to his hustle on the court. Elijah takes pride on the defensive end, unlike some other defenders he is good both on and off of the ball. He is a pest on the ball and has good instincts on when to jump passing lanes. On the offensive end, he uses his quickness to burst by defenders with or without the ball in his hands. Elijah is a gritty guard that helps make Doherty one of the most intriguing teams from Colorado Springs this year.
