Mack continues to provide steady scoring around the rim and timely passing off of incoming help. Excellent while attacking downhill, his quickness is up among the best of guards in the state, excellent with his touch around the basket and awareness while attacking full speed. Doherty brings a particularly unique roster with three lead guards simultaneously in the starting lineup, however the combination of IQ makes them such a tough out.

Mack is a pretty slick scorer who got banged up in their first game of the weekend but fought through and ended up scoring 26 points in their final game of the weekend against O’Dea. He was really crafty around the rim, splitting defenders, mixing up timing, and making some tough scooping finishes or going high off the glass to counter shot-blockers. He showed some great bursts with the ball and was effective from either side of the hoop.

Mack’s ability to speed up opponents on both ends helps convert plenty of turnovers for Doherty. As one of the premier perimeter defenders in the class, few backcourt athletes in the state have been as comfortable under quickly changing situations. As well a dependable finisher with either hand under the rim, he leverages his strengths constantly.

Mack’s high motor and quick passing instincts made him one of premier facilitators from this event. Bringing in a quick change of pace with the ball, the guard does well manipulating passing lanes, often threading the needle through multiple opponents. Constantly putting pressure on the rim, opponents had trouble keeping him out of the middle all day on Friday. Defensively is where his IQ is on full display, proactive jumping passing lanes and getting a hand into opposing playmakers’ space.

A particularly high motor guard, Mack has a nose for the ball, seemingly always in play for rebounds. Bringing in notably quick acceleration, the guard can blow by opponents while handling the rock. One of the higher IQ decision makers in this class, Mack constantly surveys the defense for openings in driving lanes. Defensively, the guard stays active in the passing lanes, quick to jump in for steals and kickstart fast breaks.
