Expert Analysis
Bobby Lopez | Prep Hoops Scout
Leasure is a player we have seen a lot of since last year, and after getting plenty of looks at him again throughout the summer and at the showcase our excitement continues to grow. He is the type of player every team wants on the floor because of his unselfish approach and ability to make winning plays. Leasure can run the point, create offense for himself and others while showing he can consistently make smart decisions with the ball. His feel for the game and team first mentality stand out, and with another season ahead, we are eager to see his continued development and impact

We’ve seen Leasure play a few times now, and what stands out to me about his game is that it’s adaptable. We’ve seen him change it up a few times depending on what the game allows, and while this was a showcase setting, he helped his team look organized, get out and run some plays, and brought calmness to the team. While plenty of guys wanted to grab it and immediately race the other direction, Leasure slowed things down enough to actually initiate offense and get everyone into the right spots. He played with good feel, ran the floor when opportunities were there, and converted his chances around the basket. There wasn’t much forcing from him but he did have a couple of face ISO baskets where he scored and made things happen. He’s a high-IQ guard who seemed to understand what each play needed, and things generally operated smoothly when he was involved. He’ll be a player who plays a ton this upcoming season, and this was him seeing where he fared alongside the class’s other top players. Solid day for him.

Leasure played with toughness and relentless energy all summer for Grit, making an impact every time he stepped on the floor. He thrives attacking downhill, using his quick first step to get to the rim and put pressure on defenses. What shines about his game is the communication and leadership displayed on the court. He’s constantly talking, keeping teammates engaged and showing a high basketball IQ. He’s also extremely coachable, quickly picking up adjustments and applying them in game situations, making him a player we’d be excited to see at the Sophomore ID Camp

Leasure impacts the game in ways that winning teams need. He’s constantly making plays with his effort, instincts and toughness on both ends of the floor. Offensively he attacks with purpose, putting pressure on defenders and forcing teams to react when he gets downhill. He also brings a relentless approach on the glass, crashing hard and creating extra possessions through hustle and physicality. Defensively Leasure stands out with tough, competitive defense, staying active and making opponents work for everything. His motor rarely slows down, and that energy consistently shows up in key moments. Moving forward continuing to polish his offensive skill set and becoming more consistent as a perimeter scorer could take his overall impact to another level because the toughness and effort already separate him

Parker made plenty of winning plays for Grit this weekend and impacts the game in ways that coaches trust. He’s a scrappy two-way guard, he takes care of the ball, competes defensively on every possession, and plays with toughness in close games. Leasure doesn’t need the offense built around him to be effective as he finds opportunities through activity, cuts, and simply going to get it himself. When his team needs scoring, he’s capable of heating up quickly, getting to his spots and producing in bunches and that was on display as he stepped up for Grit and played hard. He’s a player who shows promise and we saw that, especially in their last two games.

Leasure made an impact with his defensive instincts and hustle. He consistently generated steals turning them into transition opportunities, and ran the floor effectively to capitalize on those chances. Additionally he showed a strong presence on the boards, securing rebounds on both ends and creating extra possessions for his team. Leasure’s combination of defensive activity, floor awareness, and rebounding made him a dynamic contributor for his team at the showcase
