These aren’t necessarily the top six from each side, rather they are the players who I would choose to be on my team. I tried to do each side with one player for each position, although they may be combo guards, and players that can play multiple positions. If I am trying to win these are my guys. I might be a little biased towards style of play, specific skill sets, or players I feel would help the team with their specific skill set. Here’s my East vs. West all star squads. I’ll start with the West team. Five starters and a sixth man.
Starting a team with possibly the best player in the state is a no brainer. He’ll run the show for the West and if I need a bucket, I am drawing up a play and letting him create. Maybe a one-four low, do your thing. I have always been a Jayhawks fan. Congrats on the offer. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
Putting him at the two guard here, allowing him to roam a little and do his thing. My guards are interchangeable, unselfish and both can pick apart the defense. This is something he does at a high level, and I am giving him the green light, to shoot it or grab and go on the break. My West backcourt is ultra competitive and intelligent. This would make my job a lot easier. Do your thing.

One of two in the class of 2025 that makes my team. I’m putting him at the three. I love the way he competes, and I know he’s going to give me maximum effort. Considering he averaged a double double last season, I can count on him to provide rebounding as well. A big factor in him making the team is his competitiveness and will to win. Now I have three players on the perimeter who do a little bit of everything and dislike losing more than most it seems.
I’ll take the big man from Mount Si, he’s also a competitor who will give me scoring, rebounds, and defense in the paint. He’s also capable of running the floor with the first three, which is important because I like tempo and fast break basketball. Doesn’t matter if it’s an all star game, he’s playing to win. He makes the team better with his blue collar work in the paint. He’s also got the green light from distance, as I trust he won’t take bad shots. I find myself thinking he might be my most important piece. That’s all I need to say about that.
Maybe the most high profile big man in the state. He rounds out the starting five. The West could have the advantage on the boards, since I now have two athletic bigs that are active and willing to take on whatever you need to win. He can get out and run with the other four as well. I should get plenty of second shot opportunities with this team.
I feel like I nailed it with my pick for sixth man. I have another super competitive player that I can plug into my lineup in any situation. His ability to play both guard spots helps make the team interchangeable in most situations. My sixth man has to have confidence, which might be the main factor in choosing the him, even though he is an underclassmen. That doesn’t mean anything to him, and it doesn’t show up when he is on the floor. He knows the game and I would probably listen if he saw something that I didn’t,which might be often. He’s got a high basketball IQ, and I’ll use it.

EAST ALL STARS
I feel confident plugging him into either guard spot and I trust him to run the show. High IQ, talent, who plays beyond his years. His ability to either facilitate or score it himself will be important to the makeup of the team. He’s a good leader. Do your thing.
One might think they named the position after him. He’s my shooting guard. Like all the previous players I have listed, I like the confidence and no fear attitude. His ability to stretch the defense might keep this team in the game. He can get hot in a hurry and run off a few threes, making him an equalizer for the East. Green light all day long.

He will play the three, giving the East another weapon from outside the arc. He’s a gamer, who is used to playing in big games. His quiet confidence and unselfish play, along with the ability to play all over the floor at 6’6″ helps give this team options. Another high IQ player who will show up when it counts.

The East is taking on a small school theme here with a 2B player in Gebbers and now a 1A. This team might be undersized but my four can shoot it, runs the floor and crashes the boards. He’s a scorer, and I am counting on that to offset any disadvantage inside. This team can get hot in a hurry.
All the sudden this team just got a whole lot better. I have star power on both sides now. The tallest player on each side, I won’t panic if he decides to bring the ball up the floor. That’s how unique his skill-set is. He can do it all, and this is also a no brainer. I have potentially the biggest prospect on either side, playing for the East. Do your thing.

I have instant offense coming off the bench with him as my sixth man. His ability to pull the trigger from anywhere on the floor, and shoot It at a high percentage makes him another equalizer. If he doesn’t get a shot off fairly quickly, then he’s not doing his job. Green light all day. The microwave, you might say. He’s also a good athlete who can run the floor and fill the lane.
