Luke Navarre
About Luke
Expert Analysis
Devin Record | Prep Hoops Scout
Luke has been having a great senior year and had led Zillah to a very solid year this season. He has grown on the court a lot since his junior year last year. I don’t think Navarre gets enough credit for being a smart scorer. He really takes his time working for good shots, getting defenders where he wants them, and attacking from a bunch of different spots.

I don’t think Navarre gets enough credit for being a smart scorer. He really takes his time working for good shots, getting defenders where he wants them, and attacking from a bunch of different spots. He’s built off of a strong junior year to take his scoring up another notch and lead the Zillah Leopards to the top of the SCAC with only one loss on the year.

This is a really tough choice and can see myself having more than one wild card in 1A. Navarre gets the nod this week as a versatile and active player at 6 foot 5 who plays more like a stretch three. He averaged over 20 a game last season. He’s got a really soft touch from all spots on the floor and gets his buckets at those spots. As active as he is, and the way he can run the floor, he should be a threat for a double double every night. I am talking more like a 26 and 13 guy. At least.

Zillah had a team loaded with talent last season and he led that group scoring over 20PPG as a junior. Zillah should be right back in the hunt for a title in March, and he’s the main reason why.

The leading scorer and rebounder last season, he averaged 20PPG. He’s a versatile player with good size and a length. He can really stretch the floor with his ability to shoot from deep. He’s active on the boards and can score in the paint. A very skilled player at 6’5, and a big time scorer, as evidenced by his 20 a game last season. He should fill up the stat sheet and be all over the floor with his ability to play all spots. He’ll be one of the names in the running for 1A player of the year and should lead his team back to Yakima.

Here’s a kid who will get you a lot of buckets. He did just that last season on a good Zillah team that made the state tournament. At 6’4″, he follows the theme of the west as my stretch three. I do expect to get work done in the paint with rebounds and defense from the long and athletic star who dropped around 20PPG as a junior. He’s active and the harder he plays, the better he is.

The East is taking on a small school theme here with a 2B player in Gebbers and now a 1A. This team might be undersized but my four can shoot it, runs the floor and crashes the boards. He’s a scorer, and I am counting on that to offset any disadvantage inside. This team can get hot in a hurry.

At 6’5, he’s a stretch 3 that scores on all levels. He got around 20PPG for Zillah last season, on a really good team. He’s also a good athlete who can run, and finish on the break. He’ll create space off the bounce and has a very soft touch to hit shots from mid-range as well. He’s a scorer first but can also help you his length. He’s got long arms and a slight build, but strong on the court. One of the best players in all of class 1A.
