Expert Analysis
Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Hiatt had a dominant performance in a big 73-36 win over Lincoln. It was clear he had the physical advantage over the younger Abes, and he went right to work. He attacked the paint all night, was strong and explosive off of two feet, mixed up his speeds and the timing of his attacks, and was a technical bruiser on his way to 33 points and 14 rebounds while going perfect from the foul line (10/10 FT).

Cam returned back to Washington to finish his high school basketball career and he is ready to finish the season with a state championship. Hiatt uses his frame well when deep in the paint, being stronger than most players he matches up against. He is a smooth shooter from mid-range and deep, having a high release point and quick release. He just recently dropped 34 points in a game that qualified his team for the state championship.

Hiatt brings a new perspective upon his return to Washington after winning the National Prep Championship Tournament last season with Western Reserve Academy. Playing alongside the likes of multiple high-major recruits has no doubt had an effect on Hiatt’s development and the mindset he brings back with him to Edmonds Woodway. We slot him in at number five in this update of the 2025 class rankings but he’ll be one to keep an eye on as we refamiliarize ourselves with the talented guard.

Hiatt has the makeup to be one of those kids who rarely sees the bench this season and his team will rely heavily on his usage. He looks all the part of a workhorse who can handle the responsibility of running an offense and creating scoring opportunities. He should have a big year in his return to Washington, leading Edmonds Woodway to a probable playoff appearance.

The former King’s guard is suiting up with Seattle Select this AAU season and has fit right in in the early season with one of the more talented teams in the state. He’s an athletic guard who can slot into both guard spots and has shown his dynamic offensive skills with strong finishes inside as well as an ability to read the floor on the go. His 3PT shot looks to be improved which adds yet another dimension to his already well-rounded game.

How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?rn-There were some ups and downs for sure, both for me and as a team, but I was really proud of how we came together at state and made another run at the title. Some other guys really stepped up to make that happen.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-Everything was pretty new. We graduated some really good seniors and had a new head coach, so a lot of people had to step up and play bigger roles including me. It was a feeling out process but like I said we came together at the right time and played our best late in the season.
What do you think you improved most on the court?rn-I’d say leadership and facilitating for other guys when the defense was focused on me. Plus moving without the ball and being able to shoot on the move and get my shot off quicker.
What are you looking to improve before the next level?rn-Been working on my shiftiness off the dribble and handle in general. And my mid-range/pull up game. Plus working hard on my body and adding quickness/explosiveness since I missed the last offseason with my leg injury.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?rn-A lot of guys really stepped up for us. Our senior guards Maddox, Gage, and Wes were the heart & soul of our team.

Cam is a big time talent who can do it all on the court. He plays aggressively, attacking the bucket at 100% speed every single time. He has an excellent three point shot and can sink it from 3 or 4 feet beyond the line. He has all the ability to take over games and lead Kings deep into the tournament.
