It is really impressive to watch Cornett operate out on the perimeter. The 6’5″-6’6″ wing handles the ball like a guard and is such a smooth jump shooter. He was excellent throughout the weekend for NOVA Village UAA 17u. The combination of size, athleticism, and perimeter skill makes him a highly intriguing prospect. Cornett is ranked as a Top 10 Class of 2027 prospect by Prep Hoops Ohio.

The most talented prospect on Westerville North, Cornett came out the gates firing from outside with a pair early jumpers to get the momentum building for Westerville North. Cornett thrives in transition and in the Westerville North full-court pressure he forced turnovers with his length and presence against rushed ball handlers. Excited to see what Cornett has for an encore performance in the state title game.

Making his debut in the rivals national rankings last month, Cornett is starting to scratch the surface of his natural ability. A state champion last season with Westerville North, Cornett will go from a starter to a team leader in the backcourt beside fellow 2027 guard

. This winter will be an interesting one to monitor for Cornett as defenses will now be keying in on trying to stop him at the top of the scouting report. Cornett will get the necessary reps to expand his offensive game and show what he can do with the ball in his hands.

Cornett is making a big jump this spring. He is going to have a bigger role next high school season, and this AAU season is showing he is more than ready for it. His scoring ability in transition is dangerous and tough to stop. His scoring ability in the halfcourt is starting to catch up as he can get to his spot and kill you. He doesn’t need many dribbles to get his shot off and kill you. He also showed some point guard ability for Nova. He can handle it and set up the offense well. I like the bag Cornett is showing off right now.

Another prospect just starting to showcase his full potential, Cornett gets better each time I watch him play and is turning his flashes into consistent production. Playing on a state championship squad, Cornett got to focus on defense and playing within the offense as a Sophomore and now will be set to be a standout player as a Junior. Cornett was also invited to the UA Future 60 after impressing for Nova Village in the two spring sessions on the UAA circuit. Big time talent out of central Ohio.

filled up the stat sheet with steals and fast break buckets, the flashes Cornett III had were extremely bright as a defender, ball handler and finisher. With his size, length of strides and ability to change directions off the dribble, Cornett III has a ton of upside down the road. Watch out for him with Nova Village 16 U group this spring as he could be a hot name in the class of 2027.

Cornett provided a spark with his ability to knock down shots from behind the arc. He had three 3 point field goals. He also showed he could get downhill to different spots on the attack. He finished with 13 points. Cornett can play on or off the ball and has an active motor on both ends of the floor. He is able to use his strength to bully his way to the bucket. He is tracking as a scholarship prospect and is one to monitor in the class of 2027 in Ohio.

Cornett is a player that has the foundations to be good. He has a great size and length. He is a big guard that creates mismatches for a lot of other guards. He then is a sneaky good athlete who knows how to explode to the rim and use his length. He doesn’t just rely on these physical gifts but also shows good skill. He has a great touch around the rim. Then he can make you pay for leaving him open from deep as he knocked down a couple of threes.

A high upside prospect out of central Ohio, Cornett III has grown literally and as a player over the past six months. Confidence continuing to grow offensively, Cornett is currently a secondary option on a Westerville North squad that has state title aspirations. Nova Village 15 U had some intriguing prospects last spring and I’ll be curious to see how they look at the 16 U level this spring. I’d imagine Division I coaches around the midwest make it an emphasis to check out this group during live periods.

Cornett was getting busy for Nova Village in the semifinal meeting with All H.E.A.R.T. in a game that could’ve went either way. I love Cornett’s length and ability to impact the game defensively. Nova Village wants to pressure the ball and force turnovers throughout basically all age groups as a program and Cornett is a big piece of their 15 U group’s pressure defense. Combine that with timely shot-making from the perimeter and some clutch buckets in the paint and Cornett continues to impress me on both ends of the court.
