Johnson is a shifty player who has great length. Anytime he got into his dribble combination moves, it was impressive to see how wide his moves were. He made the defenders cover a lot of area, and then once they made one mistake or step, Johnson made them pay. He showed great touch around the rim and in the paint. He has a tight handle on the ball, and this skill set was great with the height he has. Mismatch problem.

The Columbus City League has some impressive young talent and Johnson shows a lot of potential as a wing guard scorer with size and skill. I was impressed by the pace he played with, not getting sped up. I’ve been lucky enough to see Johnson at our Prep Hoops freshman showcase, the Midwest basketball club fall league and with Centennial during the high school season. The size, shooting ability and offensive flashes have me very intrigued by Johnson’s ceiling once he fills out his frame. Name to monitor in central Ohio.

One of the more polished 2028 prospects I’ve seen so far, Johnson was a standout at our Freshman showcase and continued his impressive play on Saturday morning. Finishing well with his left hand at the rim, there’s a few skills where Johnson is very advanced for his age. Excited to see how Johnson performs as a freshman at Centennial.

Johnson showed a ton of potential as a scorer on Sunday. A bigger guard, Johnson already stands around 6’1, 6’2 and doesn’t look like he’s done growing. An efficient scorer, Johnson showed soft touch on jumpers when his feet were set. Johnson’s length also allowed him to make a variety of dribble moves to beat his defender. I also liked some of the polish Johnson showed with a couple buckets using pivot moves and pump fakes. A very naturally talented prospect who will be a name to know in the Columbus city league this winter.
