Playing with Summit Country Day, Rardin is able to play off the ball and specialize as an off-ball scorer and the results have been excellent so far. Rardin is an impressive spot-up shooter and he’s done well playing off of his teammates and knocking down corner and trail 3-pointers. With good size and length, Rardin has the physical tools to be an impact defender and contest shots both at the rim and on the perimeter. One of the more talented wings in Ohio’s 2028 class, Rardin looks like a potential breakout candidate with Summit Country Day.

One of the top wings in Ohio’s 2028 class, Rardin has the positional size to stretch the floor and attack closeouts while also scoring over smaller defenders in the paint. Rardin did a nice job on Saturday of taking long strides to the basket and using his length to avoid shot blockers at the rim. Rardin also knocked down a handful of 3-pointers, hitting shots off the catch and DHO actions. Expect to hear a lot about Rardin over the next few years.

The lefty Rardin is one of the elite wing shooters with size in Ohio’s 2028 class and I’ve been lucky enough to see him both with All Ohio Red and with Turpin this summer. With All Ohio Red you get to see Rardin make shots Vs some of the top athletes in the country for his age. That skill is a valuable one as his positional size gives you a chance to defend on the interior, especially once Rardin fills out his frame as he matures. With Turpin, the offense is more centered around him and he’s able to use his size to post up and score at the rim while also flashing some more passing ability since he’s playing on the ball more often. I always encourage scouts and college coaches to see players in multiple settings to see how their game changes based on the personal around them. Rardin is a prime example of a wing who can play a couple different roles based on what is being asked of him.

I was really impressed with what Rardin showed me on Wednesday, looking confident attacking off the dribble and making a lot of offensive plays. At his size on the wing, Rardin can space the floor if you put a bigger defender on him or seal and finish over a guard sized defender. Rardin found his most success when he was able to drive and get back to his left hand with the spin move and liked the scoop layup as a finishing technique. Maybe his best play of the day came on a pick and roll where Rardin read the help defense and hit his roll man with a nice bounce pass in traffic. One of the more talented wings in southwest Ohio’s 2028 class, Rardin will make his debut in our rankings during our end of July update.
