Westerville North has been running roughshod through any opposition they’ve played in Division II this season and King is one of a few 2027 prospects that are breaking out this year. A multi-sport athlete, King also is a standout on the gridiron as well. His physical presence is obvious when you look at his frame and he’s an excellent rebounder and displays soft hands as well on the hardwood. Look for King to continue to make noise and rack up all conference team nominations over his final two seasons for Westerville North in both the fall and winter.

Sophomore King is a forward who is not the tallest, but he is the strongest on the floor today. I was surprised by his ability to not give up an inch in the post with his defense against much bigger players. He was like trying to guard a brick wall. He did a great job of fronting the post without getting pushed up too high. He was a physical player with a great presence in the post. He is strongly built all around He got rebounds and was able to score it well for the Warriors.

Westerville North had their way with Richmond Heights and I could’ve picked any of three 2027 standouts as Tony Cornett and Tyson Perkins Tyson Perkins 5'9" | PG Westerville North | 2027 State OH were both influential in the win as well. I went with King because of his physicality in the paint, which was a clear strength for Westerville North in this game. King was moving players in the paint and putting himself in position for offensive rebounds and also finished at the rim off BLOB plays and sitting at the dunker spot. King made a name for himself this fall on the gridiron and has had a fast start to his winter on the hardwood.
