Young has been on an incredible this postseason and this continued in this game. He led all scorers with 29 points and made it look so easy. He knocked down an open shot. Used his defense to create easy buckets for himself and others. 14 of his points came in the 1st quarter. He was able to score at the rim whenever he wanted. He is a good-sized guard who knows how to dictate contact well. He plays with great control and confidence in this game.

Young was the best player on the floor on both ends. The impact he had on both ends of the floor was felt. He was a lockdown defender on the perimeter. North runs a match-up full-court press and Young excelled in that role. He was a pest on the ball. His size and length allow him to be a physical but legal great defender. He dictates what you do. He climbs into your space well. His effort on that end was great. I knew Young was going to give his all on defense tonight, what impressed me was his ability to get buckets. He created a shot for himself well in the half-court. He broke guys down got to his spot and scored. Takes his game to another level. Young plays the game the right way on both ends and has a massive impact on winning. Tough to stop.

Young who had a big second half impacted the game in all facets from scoring, defending and making others better. He had a team high 14 points with 6 coming in the 4th quarter to push his Westerville North (OH) squad over the top. He glides to different spots on the floor with ease and can plays at different speeds. He does a good job getting downhill.

Young is the Mr. Consistent and the glue guy for this Westerville North squad that has a real chance to go to Dayton. His defense and doing the little things, like always, was off the charts in this one. He did a great job of when this game got close in the second half of getting to the rim and scoring when he needed to. He drove through the defense time after time and was super physical. He is someone you can lean on and this is the second time I watched the Warriors play this year, they needed to lean on him and he provided.

This was maybe the best game I’ve seen Young ever play as he was the difference in Westerville North’s win in a battle of two of the best teams from their region. Young had a nasty hesitation move off the dribble on a closeout attack and was blowing by the Leopard perimeter defense consistently. Young also used a curl cut off a screen to get a wide open layup as well. His time and space 3-pointer also helped add some cushion for his team. Young’s future college head coach Todd May also made an appearance to support Young on his big night.

No team has played a tougher three game slate to open the season than Westerville North. Facing off against two defending state champions in Saint Ignatius and Richmond Heights while also taking on defending Columbus regional finalist Olentangy Orange, Westerville North has taken their competition to the next level this season. Young is committed to a Mountain East program that can use his defensive versatility and athleticism. Young also has improved his vertical explosiveness and has continued to fill out his frame. If Westerville North is going to make a state title push, they’ll need Young to be an impactful two-way piece.

Young is a glue guy for this Westerville North and it showed in the second half for the Warriors. They came out and had a huge second half specifically the third quarter as they got themselves back in the game and it was Young that did it. He was great in the full-court trap defense. He applied great ball pressure and got a ton of off-ball steals. He has a good strong physical frame that makes his slashing ability tough to stop. He knows where to be on the court at all times.

The most impressive team performance on Saturday was by Westerville North as they simply dominated Richmond Heights on both ends of the court. Young was a key reason for this domination as he got after it defensively and made life miserable for the Spartan guards. After defensive rebounds or steals, Young was looking to leak out and he had a couple breakaway dunks after getting behind the defense. Strong effort to start the season for a Westerville North squad that is a state title contender.

This Westerville North squad is impressive and Young is the motor for this team. He was doing all the small things tonight that help you win games. He did a great job of crashing the board on both ends of the floor. He scored a lot of second-chance points. He has great energy and defensive ability. He made every extra effort to play tonight. Big fan of what I saw from
