Sam is a stretch-four who can make plays in the paint or out beyond the arc. At 6’4 he has a strong frame that helps him play through contact or box out bigger players before pulling in rebounds. He was often the guy pulling in a defensive rebound and then launching deep outlet passes up the floor to get his team out in transition. McAlpine also showed his shooting touch by draining a corner three in the second half of the game I watched.
