Van Alsburg remains a bit of a mystery, although his wide reach and soft touch leave plenty of room for intrigue. At past showcase events, Van Alsburg was an efficient finisher in the paint, getting to hooks and push shots above incoming contests. Defensively, there is no doubt Alsburg will make the lives of opponents much more difficult. Him and fellow forward Mbadinga-Nzamba will be among the state’s tallest frontcourt pairings.

Alsburg is a player that made a huge impact for his team during the year and will look to continue his growth this spring headed into the summer. He is a dominate force inside the paint and gets it done on both sides, being able to take over the game on the inside. On offense he is able to use his strength to bully his way into the paint and finish at the rim. Can get out in transition or making nice cuts to finish strong. He causes a mismatch problem as he is shifty for his size. On the defensive end he makes it difficult to get anything going inside for the opposing team. He is anchor and can alter shots coming away with blocks and making the offense think again. Will be a big to keep an eye on as his stock rises.
