There are players who are outside of the top 5 who have ligament arguments to be put up all the way at the number 1 spot. We are making these rankings off of a small sample size as we do not focus on watching middle school basketball just high school. These rankings will surely change throughout these players’ high school careers as we get to watch more and more of them, this is just the starting point. Parents, players, and coaches if you are not happy with the way a player is ranked the team and I are always open to being proved wrong, put in the work, and we will notice!
This class of 2026 is very talented as there are many players in this spot of the rankings with very high upside and the ability to make an impact at a varsity level this upcoming season.
Franck Belibi Franck Belibi 6'3" | SG Cherry Creek | 2026 KS – Cherry Creek
Franck Belibi Franck Belibi 6'3" | SG Cherry Creek | 2026 KS is one of those prospects who makes this class so intriguing. Franck is a great athlete, very similar to his sister Fran Belibi, the dunking girl at Stanford! He uses his athleticism to float around the rim, he also has great balance and body control which allow him to make tough contested shots at the rim. While his slashing ability is very good, he is also able to shoot from the perimeter and can create off of closeouts to attack downhill. On the defensive end, Franck is a very good on-ball defender and off of the ball uses his long wingspan to deflect passes. He has all the tools to become a modern 3 and D wing prospect down the line.
Caleb Fay Caleb Fay 6'5" | SF Kent Denver | 2026 State CO – Kent Denver
Caleb Fay Caleb Fay 6'5" | SF Kent Denver | 2026 State CO is a big wing who already has college size. Caleb is primarily a downhill scorer who uses good footwork and long steps to get good positioning near the rim. He effectively uses euro-steps changing paces from fast to slow or slow to fast to get great positioning to finish at the rim. He also has a broad frame which makes it easy for him to fight through contact and finish at the rim. Caleb has shown the ability to knock down open threes with a good-looking jump shot. He does a very good job creating for himself off of the rip, but I am interested to see how he develops as an off-ball mover as when he cuts it often creates more looks for his teammates and him.
Ryan Van Alsburg Ryan Van Alsburg 6'8" | C Rocky Mountain | 2026 State CO – Rocky Mountain
Ryan Van Alsburg Ryan Van Alsburg 6'8" | C Rocky Mountain | 2026 State CO is a lengthy 6’7 forward who is very light on his feet which allows him to be an impactful player on both ends. Defensively Ryan is a good rim protector who has shown some promise when switching onto perimeter-oriented players. Ryan’s verticality and long arms allow him to track down shots defensively and offensively making him a dump-off threat who can finish above the rim off of two feet. He is truly an active player on the court which is what allows him to stand out. On the offensive boards, he is a constant threat for tip-ins or putback dunks and even has been seen catching lobs for dunks. Ryan is an athletic 6’7 forward who will certainly be one to keep an eye on up in Fort Collins.
Madden Smiley Madden Smiley 6'2" | CG Windsor | 2026 State CO – Windsor
Madden Smiley Madden Smiley 6'2" | CG Windsor | 2026 State CO is a knockdown lefty shooter who thrives in his role. Madden plays like an older prospect than he is, it may be due to growing up in a basketball fam as his father, Steve Smiley, is the head coach at the University of Northern Colorado. He has solid height for a complimentary guard standing at 6’2 and is a good athlete for his age. Madden has shown off that athleticism by showing off his dunking ability in fastbreaks making it look easy. Madden is a smart lefty shooter to watch this season with an intriguing Windsor squad.
Elliot Moskowitz – Fairview
Elliot Moskowitz is a big combo guard who has shown promise to be a very good three-level scorer. From outside, he has a knockdown jumper off of the catch and can hit shots off of the dribble as well. Elliot has shown off the ability to take and make tough shots through heavy contests. He can attack closeouts or use hesitations to get past defenders where he often goes to a floater where he has soft touch. While Elliot is not a standout athlete he uses his IQ to score around the rim. Watch out for Elliot to be a big scorer in his freshman season at Fairview.
