Expert Analysis
Clayton Conover | Prep Hoops Scout
Active swatting away shot attempts at the rim, Dixon continued to provide activity on the defensive end, particularly within the paint. A strong forward who has shown the ability to guard multiple positions, he remains one of the strongest names left on the 2024 board for this state. Along the perimeter, he stayed aggressive seaking out three point attempts, active off the catch.

Dixon provided vertical pressure against opponents, effectively getting up to contest the large number of rim attempts from Chaparral’s backcourt. His notably strong frame allowed him to guard up against their bigs or utilize his quickness to switch onto guards if necessary. They were the beneficiary of tight angled passes and layup attempts following a well timed cut. Leading this group with 23 points on 8 of 8 from the field, there is little more the forward could have done to secure a victory. Although having to match up against taller frontcourt opponents, Dixon had no trouble asserting himself in the paint, particularly on the defensive side.

Dixon has been a key interior presence for one of the state’s top programs in 19-2 Valor Christian. Certainly bringing a low center of gravity and notable verticality, he has been instrumental protecting the paint for this relatively undersized team. A swiss army knife on the defensive side, Dixon should be taken a look at by D3 and Juco programs.

A strong forward, Dixon did well finishing around contests or through contac at the rim. He has no trouble throwing down two handed dunks, among the bouncier prospects in this 2024 class. His strength played a valuable role for them defensively, active contesting shots at the rim.

An especially bouncy forward, Dixon was an excellent defender around the rim, effective at guarding up against taller opponents. Both strong and athletic, the guard will be a valuable frontcourt defender with Valor, who is still fairly small among those positions. Their continued growth and increase in volume on spot-up attempts beyond the arc will be important for his offensive upside. Should Dixon be a consistent floor spacer, he will have ample opportunities to attack for above the rim finishes. Valor will feature three above average three point shooters in the majority of their projected lineups, allowing ample space for the senior forward.

Dixon is a player that can get it done on both ends of the court, and has the speed to be dangerous in the post. He can be seen at times getting out quickly on the break and he plays above the rim finishing with dunks when he gets the ball in the post. He does have nice touch and can score in the midrange as well as stepping behind the arc at times to knock down the three ball. He has the strength to back defenders down and with his length is able to finish above them. On the defensive end he has quick feet and can get in front of the ball handler and send away shots. Will be a player to watch as he can be an anchor for the defense.
