Duvalier Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
Merilatt, who’s currently suiting up on the football field, remains the team’s enforcer and emotional leader on the court. He plays with toughness, confidence and has developed into a reliable shooter who can space the floor. His strength inside, improved touch, and willingness to lead by example make him a vital piece for Broomfield, and that is a team looking to surprise a few teams and make a push this year. When he locks in, Merilatt sets the tone for everyone around him and I expect that to be on display. He makes a jump in the rankings this time around.

Merilatt has the confidence after a strong summer with Hard2Guard, where he cemented himself as a dominant interior presence. He consistently overpowered defenders inside, finishing strong at the rim and converting in traffic. Adding to his post game, he displayed a smooth mid range jumper that kept defenses guessing. The big question and exciting opportunity will be seeing him stretch the floor at the showcase, proving his range and three point touch against top tier competition. If he brings that same inside out versatility, Merilatt could make a major statement

Merilatt brings physicality, toughness, and a high IQ to every game, and that is what sets him apart. He uses his frame to battle inside and showed a strong touch around the rim this summer. He runs the floor, finishes through contact, and even knocks down midrange jumpers. He’s not just a bruiser, as he creates for himself but also excels as a slasher and consistent scorer. After moving off the Watch List, Merilatt will debut in the rankings this cycle.
