About Braylon
Expert Analysis
Duvalier Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
Braylon is good. He is, and when he makes up his mind, there aren’t any players who can slow him down. That was on display as it was great to see him at his grade level with Colorado Destination Academy, and he had a solid performance against one of the top 16U teams in the state. He has good size for a guard; he is fluid and was getting to his sweet spots. Braylon was finishing at the basket, grabbing boards, putting the ball on the ground, and starting the break. He’s looking strong right now, and when that confidence catches up, and he is assertive each time out, is when I think everyone else will be on notice.

Tshibanda caught attention this summer and is already making a real impact for Broomfield early this season. He’s a physical scorer who embraces contact, makes plays in the post and finishes through traffic. Beyond scoring he shows strong vision for teammates, finding open looks and keeping the offense flowing. His toughness, feel for the game and early production make him an important piece now and a player to watch as his role continues to grow.

Tshibanda is one of the more intriguing prospects in the class and a player poised for a breakout year. His physicality and motor stand out, and his strength translates on both ends. From what we saw from him this summer, he rebounds, finishes through contact, and brings toughness that impacts winning and that should be on display at Broomfield this upcoming season. With an expanded varsity role, expect Braylon to be a consistent two-way contributor and riser. Buy stock now — his upside is real.

Tshibanda lived up to high expectations, filling the stat sheet and scoring with ease in 3 on 3 and 5 on 5. He blocked shots, stole passes, and converted athletic finishes in transition. He scored in bunches, using his size to create mismatches and his strength to finish through defenders. He would get the defender on his hip, give them a bump, and finish for and-1 opportunities, which you don’t see much of in this class. He’s also a versatile defender that I feel will explode this upcoming season. As the game slows for him, he’ll be even more dangerous. He’s a player to watch moving forward that we see get better each outing.

What we know:
What we know is that he’s an athletic guard with size that can play both on and off the ball, and he’s able to score in bunches. He gets hot and takes over in games and is a downhill finisher that cannot be denied. He also is a player capable of defending multiple positions and is willing to make the extra pass. This is about putting that all together and showing that he’s a player that should be taken more seriously.
What we’d like to see:
We’d like to see that on display. With his size and explosiveness, he stands out on that alone. Couple that with his ability to work, and he becomes a player with a higher ceiling. We want to see him just make plays. He should be providing a bit of everything: cutting, rebounding, shot-making, just making winning plays. We want to see that he’s able to keep up and stand out. That he’s not overwhelmed with the pressure and that he’s a defender that communicates and makes the switch onto top players. He’s a player we’ve been wanting to see more of, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to show all that he’s been working on.

Tshibanda has already shown he can attract defensive attention, space the floor as a shooter, and provide scoring from the wing. At the showcase we’ll be watching to see how he turns that gravity into production. From reading defenses, creating clean looks off the dribble, and setting up teammates when the defense collapses. If he can pair consistent shot making with playmaking instincts and active off ball movement, he’ll establish himself as a high impact, versatile perimeter threat capable of influencing the game on multiple levels

Braylon has all the tools to break out. He’s athletic, has length, and creates his own shot. When the ball is in his hands, he thrives. He’s hard to stop 1v1 and has the vision to make the right read. He guards multiple positions, makes hustle plays, and has shown flashes at past showcases. I want to see him put it all together against other rising sophs. Big upside if it clicks consistently. I’d buy stock soon.

Tshibanda remains one of the more athletic downhill scorers in this class, bringing a quick first step and the ability to elevate around the rim. Bringing a wide reach to finish past contests, he brings a much more physical frame than most benefit at this stage in their careers.

Tshibanda repeatedly found success while attacking the rim, at his best while operating against a rotating defense. His quick acceleration and wide reach propelled him towards numerous layups and drawn fouls around the rim. Tshibanda brings value as one of the better point of attack defenders within the class, effectively walling off the lane more often than not.
